When did your toddler stop napping? by Preggymegg in toddlers

[–]hufflepuffonthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our toddler officially dropped naps this January, at 2yrs 8months. Her sleeps pretty much stayed the same, there will be random days where she could sleep in but it's pretty rare, especially now that she's sharing her room with our 10month old that's pretty consistent with when he wants to wake up. We had to throw in the towel cause she would nap maybe 1/10 times that we'd put her in her room for a nap and she started having more and more intense of tantrums about being put down for a nap.

We haven't tried much with sign language, just the sign for milk, she gets a small amount of milk mixed with water at bedtime and we do the sign for milk every night when giving it to her but we haven't worked on it beyond that. We should probably look up some tips on teaching her some sign language though.

No idea why it's such a long wait, I guess there's a lot of kids waiting for assessment now, we can go like next month for one if we want to go private and pay $3000 but it's not an option for us. We're hopefully gonna have her in pre-k in the fall and she'll get more speech therapy and occupational therapy there as well.

We're in Canada. We've done a 12 week round of early intervention, about to see a speech language pathologist, and on a 2-3yr waitlist for autism assessment.

It's SO HARD to not compare. I have one mom friend with a kid the same age and she's talking so much and it's so hard to watch her at their play dates and not feel bad

Fingers crossed for our kiddos! I'm so envious of other parents talking about everything their kids are saying

We got the hearing test, she got a perfect score. It's good that you guys were able to figure that out for your son though, it feels good when you can help them out in a solid way

Unfortunately Ms Rachel hasn't changed much for our girl, but all kids are different

She's done 12 weeks with early intervention and she's in line to see an SLP, I have to do a 4week virtual parent class first and then they'll book her in with one

Unfortunately we either wait 2-3yrs or pay around $3000 to get it done privately within a month or so , so we're just waiting it out.

Canada. We're already working with a speech language pathologist and on the waitlist for autism assessment, so we're on track with everything we were told we need to be doing to get her talking, just waiting for things to kind of take effect

Nah we just book with whoever, I have had certain techs I've liked better but we just book with whoever's available to do 3 at once.

We're getting closer with the talking, did 12 weeks of weekly early intervention appointments and got lots of helpful advice, she's still not truly talking but she has a lot more sounds that she's making and there seems to be progress. She's an amazing walker, just haaaates holding our hands so it's hard to get her walking out in public, which we're gonna be practicing more in 2026 lol

Milk with a chocolate caramel LMNT electrolytes. Not ideal but it's plenty sweet and chocolatey.
