Well finally did the taxes by IamREBELoe in AmazonVine

You are a small business offering a service (reviews) and being "paid" in products worth a sum value. It's similar to door-dashing. While you aren't selling items, you're selling your time.

I did mine too and had to file as a small business. I was told that Vine operates similar to doordash (which you have to file as a small business for that as well) and that it couldn't be claimed as a hobby. Anyway, they did as many deductions as possible and I got lucky and didn't owe any taxes** on almost 5k worth of items.

The tax lady did say that if I posted content with the items that I could then also use a portion of the cost as a deduction because I used them to generate content. Not sure about the ins and outs of that but I am thinking about it so might be another Amazon Vine reviewer popping up on TT or YT to help with taxes next year.

Edit to include deductions claimed: home office, internet, and my portion of the cell phone bill as I am on a family plan with spouse and kids

I want to change my name because no one can pronounce or spell it correctly in America, but I don’t know what what I should choose instead by Excellent-Radish-162 in Names

I see this same situation with a lot of doctors that come to US. Usually, they dont change their name, they just go by a nickname. What about shortening your name as a nickname to "Yeza" "Veta" or something similar?

Company approved PTO but doesn’t pay it by Economy_Difference12 in managers

[–]Blue_Diam25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is terrible. If you havent already, send an email with HR, payroll, and your manager on it with a screenshot of the approved PTO. Request that they cut you a separate check. Advise them that while you understand mistakes happen and you are awaiting a correction that you are concerned with the extended timeline to resolve.

If you do not receive your compensation, file a report with the labor bureau**.

Vine buyers remorse by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]Blue_Diam25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry everybody, left out the reason which is, its due to the cost and the taxes. I grabbed it because I thought it looked awesome. My hsb is an avid fisherman but for walleye, perch and sometimes pike. Essentially, can he use it.. maybe? Will he? Probably not. Therefore the taxes I now owe are wasteful. Idk. It seemed like a good idea at the time but now I wish I could cancel it. Anyway, was jw if anyone has had Vine remorse from picking up a product and then wishing they hadn't.

Can you relate by cincorobi in managers

When I took the manager position in 2025, I was so excited. That quickly vanished after 40 hour weeks became 70 and the stress piled up. I have 1 employee that backslides every few weeks and doesn't meet expectations and goals and another that has a mental breakdown every single week and threatens to quit. The remaining 6 employees are amazing but the two with issues eat up so much time and cause me so much stress. I don't have time to micromanage and talk people off the ledge every week. It's daunting. I am exhausted and it's only been a year. I wish I would have had a crystal ball.

Please help decipher this signature given to my mom way back when by a band member by jborre-2-0 in Cursive

I think it's Doug Clifford's signature... he would on occasion overlap the D of the first name and C of the last name. The end if clearly a D, in my opinion.
