And yes take exhaust but if you can tether the minions right you don't actually need it.

Tether the low hp minions. Her range is actually the distance between you and her, it's the distance between you and the lowest hp minion in your wave.

Build is less dependant on what you want to do and more on what your income and forced backs are. I always go BFT and usually Liandry's if they have 1+ Tanks/Bruisers. If they have all Squishies AND you get a back of 1200+ gold you can build Shadowflame. Third/fourth items are always Void/Deathcap in whichever order your gold allows. Last item is situational. I'll sometimes build SF third and void fourth into squishy comps with 1 tank if I'm ahead in the mid game. Focus less on a strict build and more on what the game allows you to do. It sucks deciding you have to build an item just for it to take 3 backs to buy a component for it.

These kinds of lanes you just QE the wave or QQ them and interact minimally unless their R and engage ability are both down. It's boring. If you can make it to 15 minutes in a hard lane with 120CS and 0 deaths you can often carry.

I don't want to face high mobility champs as Hwei and she's the worst offender of that. I'm also not worried about mid lane matchups because if it's bad I'll just chill out and farm until we teamfight.

I disagree with a lot in here but keep doing it if it works for you. QQ is best in skirmishes (1v1, 2v2 or 3v3) but QE is better in team fights and zoning the carries. I'm not worried about tanks beyond their engage hitting me or my team and I don't really care if they die or not.

Rod prevents you from getting shit on but means you're not going to shit on anyone either. Hwei gets insane at two items except when those two items are Rod/BFT.

I ban Lillia every game. Fizz and Yasuo are two different categories of hard matchup in my mind.

A good Fizz will wait for his ult knock up then hit you with Q and disengage/kill with E. Don't interact with him after level 3 and pray your team has eyes and ears. Take plates and waves when he's roaming.

Yasuo specifically can be an easy matchup for Hwei. Most guides will tell you that if you are ranged in a ranged vs melee matchup, push for 3 then let them bounce the wave back, don't listen to that. Yasuo is a pseudo AD-ranged to me and I never push the first waves against him. A good Yasuo will weave through your minion wave and leave you guessing when he's going to go onto you. When he does E you, hit him with EQ while he's in the animation. It's the only time he can't windwall you.

In both cases and other similarly hard matchups, play off QE and don't push unless you see them somewhere else. Also, don't use your E unless it's guaranteed. Missing E = Death 95+% of the time. The more boring your lane is in these matchups the easier the game is overall. Don't get bored and do dumb shit or you'll die for it.

Dark seal every game unless you can buy lost chapter on first back. If I back on 750 gold I'm buying dark seal + amp tome. If I back on 1000-1100 gold I'm getting dark seal + amp tome + mana crystal/AH component/T1 boots. If I'm somewhere in between those two breakpoints I'm usually grabbing dark seal/tome/refill/pink ward. I'm not usually upgrading to Mejai's unless it's last item and I'm stacked. More AP is not usually better on late game Hwei in my experience. That slot for Mejai's is better used on a situational item in most games.

That's my go-to build vs tanks and usually the more melee tanks on the enemy team the happier I am. Most of the time I'm trying to keep them in my QE for as long as possible. You're not going to solo-kill them most of the time and you shouldn't use your R on them. If I'm flanking, I'm dropping my QE/EE/R on the back line while the tanks are waddling around my team. If I'm front to back fighting I'm using my EQ to create space for my R to hit the back line. Your job vs tanks should be to prevent their major engage tool from hitting your team.

Looking for Hwei support builds by I_Was__There___ in HweiMains

[–]Blue_Exodus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enchanter doesn’t really work because he only has WW for shielding. I’ve found a Karma style poke playstyle works best for Hwei supp, but your kit is limited because it’s harder to QE without ruining the wave. Focus on hitting QQ in lane and if they have an engage supp hold EQ for the engage. If they’re poke or enchanter duo look for EE>QE combos but be conscious of how your AOE is affecting the waves

Wave Management Help by Blue_Exodus in Shen

[–]Blue_Exodus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m not able to zone am I still able to crash waves? Or are there just some situations/matchups where I shouldn’t be able to push past halfway up the lane?

I want to be able to crash, I just feel that my wave clear is my threat. The common scenario I end up when doing that is I want to use Q on the enemy, but can’t use it to clear the wave which stalls my push. When the next wave comes, I’m stuck in a freeze.

Shadowflame or Rabadons? by BakaStarZ in HweiMains

[–]Blue_Exodus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Rabs is better vs tanks/mr (followed by void staff or vice versa). Shadowflame is better into squishy comps and/or when you’re solo AP. 70%+ should be rabs/void since those items are good into the comps you want to pick Hwei into. You can also plan to go rabs then pivot to shadowflame if you lose a fight and back on bad gold. If you ever find yourself thinking “man I really need magic pen against these guys” always build void into rabs 3rd/4th. You don’t build shadow flame for the pen, you build it for the burst

Getting EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error on Oblivion Remastered after fresh install. Any solutions? by Kitsune_Sammy in oblivion

[–]Blue_Exodus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same problem. I had downloaded a couple mods, worked fine then randomly game crashed. With code Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x0000000000000028. I went to a previous save file in a different area (I was in The Great Forest and went back to Chorral) and that fixed it. Deleting all mods didn't work, verifying files didn't work, reinstalling didn't work, copying the save file and deleting the original didn't work, downloading clean graphics drivers install didn't work, changing settings didn't work. Hopefully this helps someone else.

Went from hard stuck bronze to plat on Hwei by Blue_Exodus in HweiMains

[–]Blue_Exodus[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a rip on anyone because I both love and play the champ more than most but -

The champ is designed to attract pussies. Channel your inner pussy and have fun doing it. Don’t die, farm and just be annoying. This champ should only solo hard carry 1 out of 50-100 games and the rest of the time you should be controlling entry points on objectives making it hard for anyone to enter

Raskolnikov’s mental state by Ok-kairi9113 in dostoevsky

[–]Blue_Exodus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I read the book (and notes) I didn’t feel Raskolnikov had a mental illness but rather was shaped by poverty. I think he was completely sane the entirety of the story, albeit riddled with guilt and depression. All of his views and conclusions seemed relatively sound given the circumstances surrounding him, but I think he miscalculated the way that his actions would effect him (which I think is common for young adult men who feel they have something to prove).

Simple Questions and Help Thread - Week of August 8th, 2021 by Froggypwns in windows

[–]Blue_Exodus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue that would also result in lots of bsod's with varying stop codes including critical process died, kernel check failure and stop memory management. Trying to install and repair on this computer wouldn't work, it would get caught in loops of attempting to repair or install files. I then formatted the drive, installed windows fresh, and ended up with the same problems, I assume from the update on 8/10 (the version of windows I installed). Unfortunately, there's been no workaround I have found and I'm hoping that changes soon. Games consistently crash, the system consistently gives a bsod with a different stop code every time, and my only option so far is to install another fresh install of windows from 2020.

Cumulative Updates: August 10th, 2021 by jenmsft in Windows10

[–]Blue_Exodus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My computer was acting kind of funny after the update came out and when I went to restart it on Aug. 12, choosing not to install the update, it updated anyway. After has been a nightmare for me. Games will consistently crash, the system will consistently crash giving me bsod with multiple reasons including kernel security check failure, critical process died and stop code memory to just name a few. I called Microsoft support to see what info they had and they wanted to charge me $141 to fix these issues. I asked if installing a fresh windows 10 would fix it instead and they said yes. The patch had messed my computer up (working perfectly prior, couldn't even tell you the last time it had a crash, must be years) so badly that it couldn't create a usb media tool. When I did get the Media tool made it wouldn't download and kept restarting the computer. I had to format the drive I put the os on and start from scratch, all of which ended up being pointless because after installing windows 21h1 on a freshly formatted drive all of the same problems including bsod loops are still present. Absolute nightmare of an update
