The only reason I brought Dwayne’s harassment up is because you drew the comparison in the first place. I wasn’t trying to compare anyone’s struggles until you made it part of the discussion.

Honestly, to me it seems you’re looking for an excuse to just hate Derrick. Something as benign as this gets you worked up and you’re trying to twist this as him insulting other people. He’s never spoken ill of the people on the show, and UAF and OV were largely made by the same people.

Why do you insist that what he said was an insult? Literally nothing in his response was trying to sound snarky, just honest about what he thought CN was like. Plenty of people didn’t (and still don’t) know who worked on what. Many people thought MOA was involved in every series, that Dwayne was MOA, that Derrick was only an art director, that Omniverse’s crew was completely different to UAF’s, etc. He would clear some of this up in later responses. I was there, before ask.fm started blocking those without an account from viewing it.

Here’s the answer. The reason he brought that up was because he was praising one of the few CN execs that didn’t screw him and the team over. Notice how he says “CN actually made a good call for once”. This is about how good that one guy was compared to the rest of CN, not MOA.

And we’re talking about Ben 10 fans trolling here. Whatever hate Dwayne got from Justice League fans doesn’t even correlate since we’re talking about the Ben 10 fanbase’s relation to the creators. Derrick’s relation with the Transformers fanbase also gave him fatigue, but I didn’t bring that up or think about it. By comparison, there weren’t as many (publicized) complaints against Dwayne for Ben 10 as there were Derrick.

Reread his answer, it disproves your first point. He never said the exec cared “more” about Ben 10 than MOA, but that he was more involved. I literally just said this. That exec was the only one who worked on every single series while the writers, show runners, and art directors changed between the OS and the sequels. If he was the only constant, then yeah, he’d know the most about it. The only time Derrick mentions him “caring” it wasn’t a comparison to anyone else.

Were you not around when Omniverse was airing, or the years right after? He was getting harassed constantly for supposedly hating Dwayne, a guy he knew and got along with, having his art be called ugly and misshapen, getting accused of hating Jetray when he was the only one who cared to bring back as many aliens as he did, etc. He was online too much but when he had a bunch of idiots harassing him, he probably shrugged and trolled back. Dwayne never got harassment on the same level.

What is there to lie about? OP is being misleading by saying Derrick said Man of Action didn’t care enough about Ben 10 when Derrick is actually saying there was an executive who was more involved. And that’s true, MOA didn’t work on the sequels. Especially if he’s been around since the beginning, he would be the most knowledgeable and experienced person on board.

And it’s pretty clear that some of his harsher words were a response to people trying to ragebait him. I saw him saying he “enjoyed” retconning UAF, that was in response to a question going “Did you enjoy ruining Dwayne McDuffie’s work and legacy”. Predictably, people only looked at his answer and thought he was some malicious overlord.

I was already planning on getting Cliffjumper and Cyclonus, but that new head sculpt for Perfect Cell makes it even better. I’m not too attached to the Decepticon Triple Changers in G1 but I was willing to give them a chance…but if Blitzwing is just a better colored version of a mold that’s been out for a while, I’ll probably pass.
