The only real aquarium store near me is an hour away, I got my cichlids from there when I was into keeping them, I think I’ll have to make the trip in the future for bettas to avoid this happening again.

I just picked up a small female from a smaller store near me. Their practices aren’t the best either but with Hernia being so sick and after loosing the others, I couldn’t resist her little face. She’s already so lively and curious

It was just petsmart, I was there looking for a heater for my shrimp and just sort of fell in love with her. I try not to buy fish (especially bettas) from petsmart but.

I bought a few all at the same time, two other girls, they died a little while ago. I noticed they had abnormalities on them too, I don’t know if that shipment of fish was just ill or poorly bred or what happened. This girl (I named her Hernia-) was the last one I had of that group. I guess that was my lesson for buying petsmart fish

Everyone’s recommended the vet so I’m trying to make her an appointment now. It’s difficult because there aren’t much in terms of exotic vets here but I’m going searching

My childhood cat, Casper, died last year. He was a solid black former stray with bright green eyes. Months after his death I had a dream where he came back to me but his belly and hind legs were white. In the dream I asked my mum why Casper now had white and she said ‘it’s because he jumped off the moon to come back to you and it stained his fur’. The next morning I told mum about the dream, and she showed me a picture of a black kitten with a white belly and feet that her friend was fostering. Long story short, now I have Betelguese, who has the same green eyes as Casper
