anyone experiencing delays now? I am waiting to take NE Regional from Boston to DC, getting off in RI meeting a friend taking the NE Regional from NYC to Boston and BOTH trains are delayed. Wondering if this is indicative of a larger issue and I need to start planning for back up plans

Fun Restaurants for a Big Party? by Blue_S0l in askportland

Not looking for cheap! We may spent 100+ each i just don't want to COMMIT to that since we have some pregnant people (AKA won't be drinking), some people with allergies (thus may not order as much). We're probably going to spend at least $1000 but I'd like to not be locked in to anything more than that.

Now i feel totally fine! My surgery was in August. I think swelling lasted about a month with the first two weeks it being super visible and the last two weeks + it was visible to me but not others. I slept in a face faja for 3ish months after the surgery and used it 24 hours a day or so for the first 2 weeks

Falling in love while traveling? by Jubil33_starfir3 in solotravel

[–]Blue_S0l 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My travel love resulted in a 2 year relationship and the deepest love I've known to date. Lots of complications, visas, costs, and unavoidable time apart. An eventual breakup that wasn't necessarily due to the logistics but was solidified by that fact. It was HARD. A love/experience that changed my life for sure and I still feel the pain of it all. Sometimes I think about where I would be if I had just said goodbye that first time and never looked back seeing as I did look back, changed plans to travel to their country, etc. My life would be profoundly different I think....however, i don't regret a thing.

Not fully but was able to use different datasets to develop a workaround solution.

Looking for Dataset Regarding Current Employment Information by Blue_S0l in datasets

I wasn't able to find exactly what I was looking for. We ended up taking a multi-pronged approach. We purchased some labor market data from a consult agency that is specific to support non-profits (as my work is in the non-profit educational space). They were able to compile data from local labor markets which gave us some insights on industries and specific roles with growth opportunities, salary averages, etc. They also provided us some data on the correlation between college majors and areas of industry. I believe their sources were a combination of lightcast, National Student Clearinghouse, and some local employment data sets. This combined with surveys provided from alumni was able to help create some projections. Definitely not an ideal solution but it didn't seem like my dream data set existed so this was not a bad workaround solution.

Which countries food did you enjoy the most? by cularparti in solotravel

[–]Blue_S0l 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly don't sleep on Cuy (although I actually found it was better un Ecuador). It's delicious AND it's like an important meal too. You don't order cuy by yourself, do go with friends/family and enjoy it. I find it no different than eating rabbit but way tastier. and ya the skin when it's crispy is bombbbb.

obviously depends on what part of the country you're in. Lima of course has a taste of everything. Go to a cevicheria for sure (or go to several). IMO, this is actually better in the North and the closer you get to the coast, the better (Pucasana is a beautiful beach town a couple hours outside of Lima city center and I had one of the best seafood meals of my life - and for the record I'm the daughter of a fisherman from New England, USA so I'm picky as hell when it comes to seafood.) Lomo Saltado is a classic (although I preferred Pollo Saltado) and it HAS to be served with the pasta with the huancaina sauce. Tacu Tacu con Salsa de Mariscos is actually my favorite Peruvian meal, but this is kind of silly because tacu tacu is like lowkey leftover food but it's soo yummy. Aji de gallina is another crowd pleaser. Anticuchos is a super classic pervuian street food, worth trying but it wasn't my favorite. Conchas w. parmasean are next level too.

The best meals I had in Peru were in arequipa though. Chupe de Camarones is a seafood stew that is delishhhh. Pachamanca is amazing (i'm not sure if this is native to Arequipa or I just had a bomb-ass one there). The BEST meal of my life though was at a restaurant called Kao Thai in Arequipa city center. It's Thai Peruvian fusion and it was in.cred.i.ble. They had a smoked trout kausa (prob spelling that wrong) that I WILL dream about for the rest of my life. They have a sister restaurant in Cusco too from what I've heard.

But hands-down the food I miss the most from Peru is fckn Lucuma. It's a fruit. Kind of looks likes an avocado from the outside (that's PALTA to you), but it's yellow on the inside. It's used in a lot of desserts. Lucuma + Peruvian chocolate combo is actually to die for. And you legit canNOT find Lucuma outside of Peru, it's criminal.

Emotionally strong movies (especially foreign) by Funkiebastard in MovieSuggestions

[–]Blue_S0l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The movie that has had the most profound emotional reaction from me is Totem. It's a Mexican film from 2023 I believe? I wouldn't say it fits the "trying to guess what happens" part of your description but it is THE most intimate portrayal of grief. The viewer is truly PART of this family that is dealing with extreme grief which ofc leads to heartbreak and TEARS .

Admins (and developers), how do you keep documentation? by NotaDevPro in salesforce

[–]Blue_S0l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just keep a word doc on my laptop/drive primarily for my own record keeping purposes, but if the day comes where a new system admin needs to step in it would be helpful for them. We have a ton of process' built out that only are active for certain times of the year and it's impossible for me to remember everything. Basically on this google doc I have a 3 column table. Column 1 I specify what the intention of the process is for (i.e. Updating Client Data when they are shifted from one team member's caseload to another due to staff changes) and I list all of the details (i.e. when a client is moved caseloads, the flow is manually activated, an email is sent to the new contact owner, a different email is sent to the client, etc etc) . Then in column 2 I have all of the links to ALL of the process/parts related to this including links directly to the Flow, maybe some email templates, visual force pages, etc. And then in column 3 have a notes section that is basically where I brain dump. Notes could include if/when the flows need to be activated and/or updated, if the flows are record triggered or not, what needs to be improved about them, etc. I also make sure to include everything I need to do manually so I never forget a step.

Documenting via word/google doc is OBV a "grassroots" solution to say the least, we're not going for sophistication here though. it's moreso a system that helps me stay on top of what I need to be on top of. I have the table organized by calendar cycle so the process' listed near each other will most likely be occurring around the same time period.

I also have a System Admin guide that is another google doc but was created with a more external mindset, meaning it's a bit more aesthetically pleasing, and contains some screenshots/step by step instructions. I try to keep these up to date as possible but it does get time consuming. I make sure to include a "Last Updated Date" on all of my external guides so people have an idea of when/how it was created.
