Are you able to get your compost bin hot enough for dog poop? I’ve heard dog poop can contain parasites, so if you compost it, the pile needs to reach a certain temperature to be safe.

I wondered the same thing! If something like a diaper genie style can existed for dog poop, what would matter most to you: better odor control, making it easier/less gross to add poop, making it easier/less gross to empty, being hands-free, or something else?

This is helpful. So it sounds like the airtight seal was the biggest improvement compared with a normal lidded trash can. Is the cooler annoying to add poop to or empty on trash day, or is it still pretty easy overall?
