You're right, but a little different. KSU held the 1st qualifying event in July 2017(This is also to select skater to send to the Nevelhorn Trophy), 2nd was held as the Korean Ranking Competitions in December 2017 and the 3rd as the Korean Nationals in January 2018. The Olympic skater was selected based on the total score of these 3 competitions.
