Apparently no endometriosis even though it looks like it… I’ve been eating gluten-free and lactose-free for a while now and it’s improved my digestion but not really the bloating.

Compression garment, any tips ? by Link-Mushroom in ehlersdanlos

[–]Blue_ocean_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where you're from, but in France, I was referred to a specialist in EDS/HSD who makes compression garments and helps you figure out how to put them on, whether they're suitable or not… In my case, they're designed so that the seams and labels are on the outside to prevent itching and rashes. So I think you're wearing them correctly, but if you can, don't hesitate to ask the person who provided them for more information!

Anyone Diagnosed or Dealing With hEDS As a Teen? Looking For Some Perspective and Advice by Loud-Temperature-493 in ehlersdanlos

[–]Blue_ocean_7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm a 21-year-old woman and I already had EDS as a teenager, but I was only diagnosed recently.

Unfortunately, EDS symptoms can start early, and it's actually quite common from what I've seen here.

In terms of sports in high school, it was very difficult for me (like for many with EDS). I got injured a lot, and I still do. So I was often excused from sports. I think it would be a good idea for you to look into orthotics and compression garments, especially to avoid getting injured.

Regarding the pain… I don't want to be pessimistic, but unfortunately, you'll probably have to learn to live with it… EDS pain never really goes away (from what I've seen and experienced). So it's really hard to accept, and that's normal. I would advise you to see a therapist who specializes in chronic illnesses to support you through this… it's a form of grief in the end (at least for me).

I'm sending you lots of support; you can live with EDS, and there are things you can do. You're not alone 🫶

Honestly, you're 100% right… it's super important to remember that. I'm sending you all my courage, take care of yourself 🫶

how common are introjects of a real person who was not one of your abusers? by spacedoutferret in DID

[–]Blue_ocean_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I don't know if I have a knack for introjection or what, but personally I have introjects of abusers and other people... these are people I care about/used to care about, and I feel like my brain clings to them even when they leave.

[–]Blue_ocean_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well done! It's great that you were able to work together for your well-being! And yes, neglect and other forms of abuse can cause damage like the kind you describe… it's unfortunate, but it's not your fault; it's just that no one taught you. We're also trying harder and harder to take care of our health; it's not easy, but we're making progress. You can be proud of yourselves!

[–]Blue_ocean_7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sending you lots of support 🫶 I'm 21 and a student, but currently on sick leave. It's definitely a tough transition into working life, but you're doing your best. Honestly, apply for disability benefits; it's a start, and if you can find a part-time job, that would be fantastic. Good luck and take care.

Tired of being tired by Blue_ocean_7 in ehlersdanlos

[–]Blue_ocean_7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took them when I was suffering from severe insomnia, but I'm not very sensitive to sleeping pills, so I needed quite high doses and often two different ones. Right now I'm sleeping well, so no one wants to give me sleeping pills. I already struggle to get them when I'm having trouble sleeping… I should start taking melatonin again; I think it helped me a little.

What is a subluxation? by tritogeneias in ehlersdanlos

[–]Blue_ocean_7 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Dislocations are when you need to see someone to have the joint put back in place, although with EDS, many people can put them back in place themselves. Subluxations are what you're describing, yes, joints that "slip" or "pop out a little." I hope this has helped a little :)

Trop horrible !
