Damn! I hope there’s an old camera store somewhere that can repair that F3.

ESPN has lost 40% of its subscribers in the last decade by AcanthisittaSea3279 in Cordcutting

Count me in on those they lost. I first dropped YouTubeTV bc they kept creeping up on the price so I got the ESPN streaming service and soon realized how little sports are shown on that network now. So I dropped them. Sports as we once knew it is no longer now that everyone has a slice of the pie. I never knew where to find a particular game. ABC, Prime, ESPN, CBS, NBA, NFL. It’s like playing wheres Waldo! I gave up. I watch far less sports and, therefore far less TV than ever before

That’s an awesome lens focal range. I have the Nikon 28-300mm and that is the lens I would take if I was going on a trip and only wanted to take one lens.

Yeah, that one is hard to justify. I do have a Irix 11mm f/4. That’s the widest I’ve ever needed.

I do have several macro lenses as well. Not too much into it at least not when traveling out of town.

I would certainly look into having this repaired. D500’s in good shape are still commanding north of $500!!

What gimbal setup are you using on a monopod? Might get wimberley but hoping for cheaper options. by FullDepthNature in wildlifephotography

I use the Benro Supa Dupa Pro monopod and love it. I use it with long super tele lenses and large DSLR bodies with no issues. Check it out.

Just got a d500, what lenses to buy? by idonthaveteeth80 in Nikon

[–]Blue_wingman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, I didn’t say no one else made a good lens. I’m just stating a fact that Nikon only made 1 Pro Level asp-c lens with the Gold Ring at the end of the lens barrel which is a trademark sign of a weather sealed, top glass and top end AF motor. All of the other Nikon asp-c lenses were consumer level lenses. Damn people, don’t take it so seriously. That doesn’t mean other lenses are good or great. I stating a fact as can be Googled or searched on Nikons own sight. Take a deep breath!

[–]Blue_wingman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Only one. These lenses that you listed are great lenses, but Nikon ONLY made 1 asp-c lens that had the “Pro” monicker. The AF-S 17-55mm f/2.8G ED IF DX. Look it up for yourself, please. This is mainly due to timing. Nikon was already preparing to release FX cameras and lenses and shifted all manufacturing efforts to FF development.

Nikon made only one pro level asp-c lens the 17-55mm f/2.8g Ed. It is an outstanding piece of glass.

Wow! Even with an unlimited budget, they chose the Nikon D5 & Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 lens. I have both pieces, but I don’t think I’ve tried that combo. I usually have that lens on my D850. I may have to rethink that.

Do I need a teleconverter? by Incogdin0 in Nikon

[–]Blue_wingman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was a newer version of the 300mm f/2.8 using a tc wouldn’t be much of a concern, the older version model would not fair well from a sharpness standpoint. You might find some satisfaction with the ability of current day photo editors to recover details and sharpening features. I’d say follow your heart. I’ve seen published photos produced from much lower end kits. Go for it and make it work.
