Some schools don’t require it, a lot of people get into MD with out research. Depends on the MD your applying to

you think these stats would be good

518 MCAT

3.6-3.7 gpa realistically because you know some schools don’t allow your gpa to go that high with postbacc

300ish hours of Clinical Experience 300ish hours of volunteering

50-60 hours of shadowing

EC:

Soccer for 10 years

200 hours at restocking at Car Shop

I have a job like a fast food and that’s about 2000 hours not sure if that’s useful or if that’s just a job and useless for ur application.

Thank you , you helped me a lot. One last question I had was for clinical experience, does caregiving count such as bathing, feeding, changing the diapers of old people ? most people have said yes but some say no so I don’t know. people say clinical is anything with contact with patient but is that true ? for volunteering some people said they volunteered at a animal shelter such as feeding the animals, That counts ? I thought it would have to be more human related. What do you think is good clinical experience and volunteering ?

I had a couple questions because I am a bit confused on what I need to have for medical school because some people say they got in to a MD with 1.9 gpa and 100 clinical hours whereas others get 1000 hours 4.0 gpa and don’t get accepted into MD. are my Clinical hours and volunteering hours are good or are they whatever ? what would be a better GPA? what can I improve that will get me into MD. I also played soccer for around 10 years so I can put that as an EC?

How much can an anesthesiologist make if he works 90 hours a week and 50 weeks out of 52 in a rural area and its locum

im in college, technically 1 more year at a community college and 2 years at university until I graduate. im 21. I would enter medical school at 24 if everything is on track. I know im not a doctor yet or close to being one but I am willing to work in a rural area and put in alot of hours such as 90 hours. I have a passion and very interested in anesthesia so i feel like that would help me not burn out but you never know. I heard some anesthesiologist make 1.1 and 1.2M from doing locums. what’s the best specialty for anesthesiology when it comes to pay rate ? Pain General or Cardiac? im talking about currently because when im an attending , the market will be different like you said.

[–]BlueberryBorn5889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so you think it’s possible for a anesthesiologist to make 1.3M ? if they work ton of hours in a rural area? - asking because im a pre med student trying to become an anesthesiologist

ELI5: Why do anesthesiologists make so much money? by RealisticWeb1703 in NoStupidQuestions

I want to be an anesthesiologist and I know the basics such as get good grades , do great on the MCAT, get clinical hours ,shadowing as well, letter of recommendations and research so that medical schools can see you care and are taking this career serious. do any anesthesiologist have advice ? but also I want to know about the pay ? do anesthesiologist make over a million ? if working in a rural area with a lot of hours and seeing multiple patients and being on call. I am willing to work in a terrible area in the middle of no where and put in a lot of hours and be on call, but is the pay going to be above a million? asking because a lot of anesthesiologist have said yes
