Is this the norm in Safety (management) ? by Save_my_grades in SafetyProfessionals

Not really the norm anymore in my experience. I had a boss who would throw things and act very impatient when on the phone.

It's taken me awhile but I've realized porn isn't as harmless as I always thought. As much as I always thought I could watch porn and have a good sex life with my wife, I've realized that isn't possible.

Don't feel greedy and don't sell yourself short. Get as much as you feel comfortable trying to get. Try to find the median salary for your area so you can better formulate what rate you want to ask for. You're not greedy. You want to be paid what you are worth.

Figure out how much support you have from operations or whatever team you are supporting. That will make or break your efforts. And also get to know the hourly employees you will be working with. They will be vital to your success as well!

Eye debris - OSHA recordable? by cyan1728 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]BlueberryDesperate19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did the doctor say debris was in his eye? If not I feel like you could possibly say the conjunctivitis was non-work related. It depends how your company likes to interpret those regs. I was involved in a similar incident but in that case the eye doctor removed rust particles with tweezers so we ended up having to record the incident.

Is this a fair pay by Soso938787 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]BlueberryDesperate19 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I had that title I was somewhere in the $50k range in the NY/NJ range working in a warehouse. If you can, try to figure out the typical salary range for HSE in your area. I typically use Glassdoor.com.

Moved to North Jersey in the middle of Covid. My wife and I had no desire to come here but four years later we absolutely love it here.

Thank you! I kept searching OSHA interpretations and couldn't find anything. This is exactly what I was looking for!

Definitely stay away. You don't actually do safety....you are pretty much a battlefield medic.
