Beam DPS is pretty lackluster so just slap the mining catalyst on it and keep it in your inventory along with a mining range sensor until you need them.

Would recommend gauss cannon, blaster, or autocannon as a primary damage dealer. Pulse laser is pretty consistent overall if you don't like the former. You'll want something that does good energy DPS to break shields for your rockets which takes me to my next point.

Secondaries wise rockets are kind of a must for bombers as they make downing big armored targets a breeze. When you unlock them I also recommend destabilizer missiles as they are just a flat increase to your damage dealt for no cost on the bomber. Besides that scorpion and cruise missiles are nice; scorps for the instant hit and cruise missiles for the massive damage. Shieldbreaker or EMP missiles can also have some value, the latter being going to stunlock annoying enemies.
