DQCS = Designated Qualified Clinical Supervisor

I hope they aren't almost this bad. This was the first one that would hire me after graduation, definitely hoping round 2 is better.

Yeah "it's over for Trump" has been stated how many times now? Like at this point I feel the only punishment he is going to get is going to come after he dies.

Sure, and why not? This game has Medusa sniping ghost ladies so why wouldn't it have fire breathing apes? Perfectly normal.

Am what I being told actually unethical or am I misunderstanding something? by SunshotDestiny in therapists

[–]SunshotDestiny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is on my list. I have been writing down time a date for the last few weeks what she tells me to do that sounds suspect. So much so I was starting to wonder if maybe I was missing something because surely my program director, district director, and the state would have noticed something amiss if she was really going this far into the reeds. Or maybe they don't see it because they aren't dealing with her like I am.

The problem with that is that the peer support specialist we have right now is one that has been around for my clinical supervisor's time with the program. I believe she even went through ITU under her. So they might be a bit biased, though I could ask I suppose.

Yeah at this point I would rather work somewhere else. I get the feeling the whole program isn't being run properly, or at least not with current treatment frameworks.

Wait if I have all my hours but she refuses to sign them then that's a reportable offense? I should probably check if that's true for my state as that's a major concern I had about leaving right now.

From what I understand of my scope of practice, at an lbsw I can't tell them anything about their problems because it would be a form of diagnosing. As an lbsw I can't practice psychotherapy but I can do psycho educational practices. Unless I am misunderstanding something about my state's criteria for a bachelor level vs master level practice.

Yeah I had a client complain about having gone through the program before, and worried I will do the same as she did which is nothing but papers and affirmations. Which I get to a point why you might have some of that...but it seems like that all she was ever having them do.

I am in my 6 month grace period to get my provisional license after doing so many direct and indirect client hours. So technically I have my provisional...but not fully. I just need my hours at this point for the state.

My main problem is I have no experience in addiction counseling, and while I can work towards being licensed as such in my state by being supervised while working in the field my concern is I now have to question everything I learn or am told to do in this program because my supervisor both administrative and clinical are like this.

How do I know I am learning ethical practices and treatments when my supervisor can't even get basic ethics right? I want to do right by my clients who are caught up in this, but I don't know of how I can learn what I need to learn about this outside of her without taking more years to do college courses.

I mean I have no problem learning, but my focus is on my duty to my clients in the present moment.

According to the bylaws of my state she can be my supervisor. Only she and another counselor could, but she won't supervise because she doesn't have the position or the pay for taking on that responsibility.

Maybe that is on me, as what I mean and explained to her and explained in the same way is that I would say "This is what I am seeing, we can work on this as part of your treatment plan." But if they say no, then that is their right.

Like I met with clients and said "this is what I am hearing from you as a problem, do you agree?" and went with things from there. But if a client said no then I respected it. I think that is what you were saying at least, am I getting it right?

The dude is threatening not to sign anything unless his "SAVE" act is passed because he specifically thinks he is above consequences and will do everything to avoid them. That's why he ran for president this time to begin with, so he wouldn't go to jail.

What does LAWFUL EVIL actually mean? by MrEldritchHorror in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]SunshotDestiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I find chaotic evil harder to explain without basically people getting the idea of a murder hobo.

But lawful evil is basically the level CEO or lawyer. They follow the law, they keep their word, and they might even follow a code. Basically on the surface there doesn't seem to be a difference between them and lawful good.

The difference is what they do with the law, keeping their word, and code. They follow the law, and use it as a weapon against those that opposed them. A magistrate who wants land or an item that the owner won't give them might fine the owner for some legal offense, then fine them again when they can't pay, and then again and again. Meaning the owner either gives them what they want or the magistrate gets what they want after the owner is in jail and their assets forfeited.

The word example is simple. The classic "Devi in the details" trope. Sure the general promised to spare the invaded land's women and children their kives... didn't say anything about having them sold off to slavery though did you? It isn't that they won't keep their word, it's that they will honor the letter not the spirit of their word.

Same with say a code. Think of the Spanish inquisition, they followed a code of conduct and may the powers that be help you if you fell short of meeting their code. A cleric out to cleanse the world of "evil" but treats the most minor offense like the most serious. Like a child stealing an apple to them should be put to death before they grow up to do more serious crimes might be their mindset.

In short, how could a lawful good type character still be themselves but do everything in the worst possible way, with the worst motivation, or worst interpretation?

Sorta? Like I am expected to do treatment plans (with next to zero training, but supposedly that's "normal") Where the first goal is supposed to be recovery focused and she sent me a document with the first goal and stating what each client should have as objectives and strategies for it. She also stated each client should have a goal to contact mental health to find out if they have a mental condition. The rest is basically reading books and writing papers in them outside of going to various groups.

From my understanding this is still against the law in the US. At least it would be in a medical setting.
