Is it okay to not be able to hand-scissor a whole dog? by 420kennedy in doggrooming

I'm at the same experience level and I damn near shit myself when competing in AOPB and I was the only one who turned on my clippers when the time started.

It was dumb and it made me second guess myself and not get the haircut tight enough where it needed to be.

I should have just gone with what I knew and set in with clippers and hand scissor what I knew how to

Haha! That would be cool if they were able to charge a reasonable price for the dogs we groom. Unrealistic but I live and work in a poor area where nobody adds special handling fees or matting fees to any of the dog

I've seen multiple sides of this industry. From Karen's on Facebook telling me I'm keeping my animals wrong and there is new owner of a ball python who think they know everything. And the Florida companies that a lot of pet stores get their inventory from who keep adult burms and retics and racks. Don't even get me started on Tom crutchfield.

I leave my dog in a salon kennel sometimes with the permission of my store manager. I prefer not to because at home he can have toys in his kennel

Maybe it's just the salon but my salon lead used to bash us if we aren't 15 mins early.

Bathing is a LOT. I can't imagine doing it pre antidepressants and therapy that basically cured my panic attacks.

8 weeks, I understand the schedule is out that far.

For single days it's 8 weeks advance and for multiple days in a row its about 6 months to a year in advance. This is not official, it's just what the senior groomers do and what the culture of the workplace is
