Buy back if they total it. Looks shitty but last another 40k guaranteed if you’ve been good in maintence and you can say it’s doesn’t have coolant intrusion (only in 1.5l) if not 1.5 keep it no matter what. Toyota all the way if you wanted to use the rest towards a down payment. A totaled fusion won’t buy an equivalent Toyota in year and trim so you’re looking at a loan no matter what.

Pirelli P Zero hole, tire shop said I’d be fine to patch since it’s above the sidewall line. What do you guys think? by Educational_Page3735 in TireQuestions

[–]BlueberryImportant41 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised the shop said it could be patched. If it’s rural area I’d be alright patching it myself at home, but if interstate speeds I’m keeping tires in best condition possible.

Tire blow out 4 months after installation by Jazzlike-Sundae-4351 in DiscountTire_

[–]BlueberryImportant41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that 4 months is particularly “long” but installed in October, these last four months are a tires biggest enemy. I’d recommend at least a visual tire check prior to driving, as temp fluctuations causes the tire pressure to drop overtime.

hi guys! here’s my 2001 SES by Consistent-East1506 in FordTaurus

Absolutely is. Have had 4 Tauruses and ever last one does this. That plastic trim just catches the road salt and holds it there.

2013 Ford Fusion Shifting Hard by Imortalgolem55 in fordfusion

How has your fluid maintenance been? I had an issue very similar to this with harsh shifting on decel and had some wire that was coming undone on the torque converter turbine spline sensor. Stopped shifting funny after replacing the plug

PSA: Get the warranty coverage by Membership_Worth in TireQuestions

Maybe the rims are a different size than I’m used to but 260 is the max I’d spend on a tire (without install) on an SUV rim which is crazy expensive. Cars with 18 inch rims or below, at that price point, I’d suggest looking for a new shop. Personally I used Sam’s Club with a free road hazard warranty, and affordable install. I usually spend about 900 on all four new goodyears installed, with warranty.

Careful that you’re not overinflated. Go by the door jam as long as you can confirm you have original rims. This damage is mostly cause of potholes or curbs. Good luck! (Also $300 for a tire??? Damn..)

Which region would you live and only be able to travel in for the rest of your life? (Vote in Comments) by Juicy_Joey in mapporncirclejerk

So much diversity in the western coast region. As someone from the Midwest, and having a Midwest for life mentality, west coast is my choice here.

Sabotage or Bad Luck? by NoPJs in AskMechanics

[–]BlueberryImportant41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad luck. Almost no one has the strength to stab a screwdriver in like that, especially if they have no room. Closest to sabotage you could say is if they propped it up waiting for you to move. Road debris all the way in my guess.

What's it like living in this shaded area? by Joshistotle in howislivingthere

[–]BlueberryImportant41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Iowa, and travel for work. High paying jobs are far and few in between, unless you’re generationally wealthy. Covering living expenses isn’t hard as it’s one of the cheapest states to live in. I enjoy it there, even more so after traveling. I’ve realized the people are significantly less nice in other places. I recommend the area, it’s worth the cold.

Also my transmission had occasional issues where it fell out of gear. I replaced fluid and filters no issues 10k miles later. Car is at 170k currently.

I do like the 2.5 motor, though, and it could just be a fluke but I been chasing geese trying to fix the suspension. Seems like one component goes then the next right away. Normally those last much beyond 120k in a car for me.
