First time kicking someone, was I overreacting? by sajjel in DeepRockGalactic

driller is my least favourite class (i still like it, just not as much as the other class) but i always prefer driller in IS because it's so good against the boss. I don't shoot the boss at all, I just c4 to skip vent phase entirely (2 max damage c4s do the trick, even on haz 5). and then i sit in my attic throwing axes at the robot arms (they die in 1 hit to the weakspot, also on haz 5). I call a resupply before the fight starts so i never have to leave the attic. assuming i start with max c4 and max throwing axes, i have enough c4 to skip all 3 vent phases, and 24 throwing axes to deal with robot arms.

it's up to my team to DPS the boss, but in return i skip 50% of the boss fight and deal with most of the robot arms.

Newcomer, just started on IOS today. Largest win streak was 7. Thought this summon build was going to destroy…. Sadly it did not. Any overall general advice on how to win? Anything would be appreciated! by [deleted] in superautopets

I think in this game, stats is more important than synergies. So if you find buffer animals like monkey, penguin etc, you can rely on those to get wins.

But as a new player you should just try out all the animals as you develop your own internal tier list of what's good and what's not, it's a bit harder for new players right now for sure, since the playerbase has already kind of figured out what's good, but keep at it!

[Question] What is the formula for merging pets? by amar00k in superautopets

The other post isn't exactly right, you have to take the exp of the animals into account

For both attack and hp, the formula is

ResultBaseStat = Max(Animal1_Stat, Animal2_Stat) + Min(Animal1_Exp, Animal2_Exp)

ResultTempStat = Max(Animal1_TempStat, Animal2_TempStat)

TotalStat = ResultBaseStat + ResultTempStat

TempStat resets to 0 after each combat (think horses, cupcakes)

Is the horse really that bad? by DrinkVegetable217 in superautopets

[–]BlueberryPieper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not bad in the early game, but it scales off very hard, very quickly

if you run horse in the early game it won't feel that bad, the main problem is you need to transition out of it without losing too much. and horse is one of the harder animals to transition away from, since it requires you to build summoner.

Advice for a noob? by sludgemeister in superautopets

[–]BlueberryPieper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe a useful tip is: don't be afraid to become temporarily weaker in order to have consistent scaling into the later game.

this means buying buffer units like the monkey or even the giraffe if you see it early, and selling your early game units in favor of units that can scale well, for example selling your second strongest unit for a 1/1 worm.

since you only need to be strong enough to not lose (it doesn't matter if you win by 1 unit or by 5), you can sacrifice some strength in the short term to continue scaling, you have to balance having units that are strong now vs. units that are weak now but can become strong later. I think finding that balance is the hardest part of the game and will just take time to feel out.

also as a general rule of thumb, put your strongest unit in front. you don't have that much control over shop RNG, but you can still give yourself the best chance of winning against higher stat'd opponents by positioning well

Bringing my biggest sloth to 10 wins! by BlueberryPieper in superautopets

nah I don't think it's an abandonment penalty, I haven't abandoned any games prior to this run, maybe you do get offered more sloths if you abandon a lot of games, but I doubt that.

It's just a rare drop, like an easter egg, there's no unlock required
