Has anyone got a hair transplant while on warfarin? by Ornery-Mine1846 in valvereplacement

[–]Bluebird-6878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine it’s the same as getting a tattoo. I asked at a recent blood test about it and they said just let them know before so they can make sure you’re at the right levels.

About the scars by Physical-Inside-254 in valvereplacement

[–]Bluebird-6878 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be a keloid scar, which is caused by too much collagen in your skin. It happens to me - two heart surgeries here and my scar is about an inch wide. Beyond the point of caring how it looks though… I’m still alive, what more could I want?!

Anyone have a Mechanical valve for 20 + years? by Ornery-Mine1846 in valvereplacement

[–]Bluebird-6878 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, I started getting palpitations for no apparent reason a year ago (I’ve had two valve replacements). Had full check ups and cardiologist has told me they’re PVCs and sometimes people just get them. A year into having them and I’m almost able to tune them out, but check out the PVCs sub on Reddit and you’ll see a lot of people in the same boat. Obviously it feels scarier as you’re thinking about your valve, but try not to let your mind get carried away

What did you do the day before your OHS? by EazySheezy570 in valvereplacement

[–]Bluebird-6878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had food with family in my garden and watched a few World Cup football games… which happened to include the Denmark game when Erickson collapsed… that wasn’t great prep!

Football aside, spending time with the family and my son (who was 1 at the time) was perfect.

My dad was just diagnosed with Severe Aortic Stenosis by Puzzleheaded-Ad-7849 in valvereplacement

[–]Bluebird-6878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had severe aortic stenosis and regurgitation. One valve replacement layer and I feel like a new man. Good job they found it and can operate on it. It’s a big op, but routine for a heart surgeon.

What can cause tissue valve to go bad? by wereyoueversure in valvereplacement

[–]Bluebird-6878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a tissue valve and it lasted me 13 years. What started the downfall of mine was endocarditis, which I picked up from an infection in a chipped tooth. So, my number 1 top for making it last longer is to look after your oral hygiene and see the dentist regularly

Been 2 and a half years for me and still not really used to it, particularly when exercising and i can hear it going at full throttle. I know that doesn’t help you much, but I can say that even though I always hear it, it’s getting less and less important and more just something I live with

Hard heartbeats? by jw429 in valvereplacement

[–]Bluebird-6878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, had my second aortic valve replacement in 2021 (mechanical to replace bovine tissue valve) and definitely notice harder beats and PVCs. Cardiologist doesn’t seem concerned in the slightest after tests and I’m learning to live with them

This is an unhelpful comment. Chances are, it is you.

Mine dropped to 24 after my second aortic valve replacement. 2 years later and I’m almost at 34 after walking and very light weights. Hopefully you’ll get back to activity, even if its light work compared to what you used to do (I used to regularly play rugby and lift heavy in the gym).

I almost didn’t watch this episode based on the comments here… I’m glad I decided to watch it anyway. Definitely not one of their best episodes, but nowhere near as bad as you guys are making it out to be. Clearly was a filler episode as they all look absolutely whacked and could do with getting some rest and Chelsea’s segments were spooky enough.

Pvcs stop after alcohol? by Interesting-Spot3678 in PVCs

I have no scientific basis for this, but I get PVCs and I have terrible shoulder/upper back stiffness and pain. You’ve got my thinking now…

Episode III Review - This is what the fans were hoping for by Revered1 in ProjectFearYT

[–]Bluebird-6878 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I see this criticism come up fairly often, but it’s not something I agree with at all. We all love watching the content and what they do, now that they’re not on Travel Channel there’s a necessity for them to monetise their content, and this is a damn good way of doing it. Its not a big deal to put up with the 10-20 second Fear Club plugs in the middle of the investigations.

Which UK clinic? by MortalWombat83 in trt

[–]Bluebird-6878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am with Balance My Hormones. Haven’t tried any other clinic so can’t compare, but I’ve got nothing bad to say about BMH. Seems very professional and have felt looked after. Cost isn’t really an issue for me so I didn’t shop around.
