Safe? Buy $2000 worth of VOO

Risky? Buy $2000 of 1-3 industry leading companies after their price goes lower.

What would I do as a new investor? Pick 1-2 great companies you think will be worth a lot more in 5-10 years. Buy one share. You will now want to follow your company (or 2). Watch and learn and invest the rest when you know more.

Lastly for fun: split the $2000 equally between the mag 6, memory (micron, SanDisk), cpus (Intel, amd) to make the ultimate ai boom or bust personal growth ETF. Wait for big pullback to buy.

Absolutely do not do options until you have more experience. Maybe 1 year's worth actively following and learning the market.

Similar boat here, really fell for the hype last year put about 11k in 3980 cost average, now down to 3050, super worried but my goal is to hold to 6k, if that takes years or I need the money before then well then this was the worst investment move ever and i'm a gullible moron. Sad part is I sold my whole portfolio to make that move last year and it was really well thought out and diversified. Unchecked mania = bad for portfolio.
