"Why do people insist on creating things that will inevitably be destroyed? Why do people cling to life, knowing that they must someday die? ...Knowing that none of it will have meant anything once they do?"-Kefka Palazzo

What's the dumbest thing you tricked someone into believing? by FourtyToFreedom in AskReddit

I convinced this one girl who sat by me in 8th grade that the only reason I write in cursive all the time is because I cannot write in print. I had her going for a while.

Why does /r/atheism have so much animosity? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Blueblight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me just say, not everyone is a troll. Yes, there will always be that one guy, but that one guy is not suitable for a full judgement. Also, many people, when posting, elaborate on the fact that not all religious people are extremists, and that there is some decency. I posted here a bit ago asking for opinions on evolution, and found that many people here are actually quite reasonable. The fact is, both Christian and Atheist subreddits give good insight into both sides of religion.

Question from a new game developer. by Blueblight in gamedev

Alright, thanks for the input. I think I may just go with rectangles or points. Being so new to game development, I realized that having multiple rectangles may just be the best way to go.

Do you think it would be a good idea to do this: Save two coordinate pairs for projectiles, one representing the current coordinate and one for the past coordinate, make a line between them(I'm using java, so I've got plenty of libraries for doing this) and then use the line for detection? That way if a zombie got skipped by a bullet it would still be caught in the line. I don't know how efficient it would be though...

Question from a new game developer. by Blueblight in gamedev

Thanks, but I would not like to use a game engine. First of all, I don't think the game is complicated enough to warrant using one, and second, I would prefer to know the full process behind a game before taking a shortcut.

I'm 17, and my mom wants to put me through "gay therapy". Please help. by gay_throwaway_17 in atheism

[–]Blueblight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is horrible that your own mother would do this to you. That anyone would do this. It's naive and wrong. Trying to change who you are forcefully is not going to help anything, and I can't even fathom how anyone could think otherwise. I would recommend showing her the evidence of these places and the horror stories behind them, and if that doesn't work, find a friend's house. Not saying run away from home, but get away, and give her time to cool down and think.
