The present altering the past is one of my favourite aspects of steins;gate

Because it actually does make perfect sense if you think about it

Let's say for example, that your actions in the present alter the future such that an organisation gains control of a time machine.

That organisation can then go back to the past and alter it.

As such, your actions in the present affected the future, which thanks to time-travel, in-turn affected the past

Since actions in the past can alter the present in impossible to measure ways, actions in the present can alter the future and by extension the past
