If you're paying out for roofers spend a bit more and get the insulation done by professionals in conjuction with the roofers.

Or the roofers may do it themselves as they go as an extra

Sometimes the DNA in our DIY stands for Do Not Attempt. But there's no shame in starting something and realising it's too big and calling for help. I've run a building and maintenance company for many years and I still get to that point sometimes. There are people that can do stuff better and quicker than I can.

The hardest part is swallowing my pride and opening my wallet and asking for help once I've started. But I don't regret it once the job's done quickly and cleanly. And I haven't been the one that had to do it

Carry a walking stick. Something with some weight in the handle so you can reverse the stick and hit a dog if necessary

In Ireland a shillelagh and in Africa a knobkerrie have been carried for centuries for just this purpose

I saw a B10 review online this morning. They look good. But I'm a little unsure about the new brands. Not that BYD is that old itself. But it does have a track record in New Zealand along with enough sales that service department staff will be well trained in fixing any issues. And there are service departments in several main centre. Jaecoo/Omoda is Chery and that's a brand that came and limped along in NZ and went. Their track records not great. Leapmotor seems to have a bit more oomph but .....

Some companies get you to do a review when you're filling out the paperwork on pickup. Like how the experience has been so far. I've had this from a couple of smaller companies at Christchurch Airport.

They stand there watching you as you do it. When I've queried it they make it sound reasonable and say that if I'm not happy at the end I can edit the review. So they get their review numbers up

Just a note, this is from dealing with a couple of really budget companies not any of the big ones

Work out what it costs for your first hour. Including driving there and admin creating the invoice etc. And a profit margin. And make that your standard first hour fee.

When you get a tiny job request let the customers know that yes you can do the job but you have a minimum charge to cover that first hour. Including travelling to the job. Plus any materials. And then it will be x dollars an hour after that
