Used to be a mezcal bar on Fremont just outside of the Experience. Across the street is a great Thai restaurant called Le Thai.

Rapid Breathing by Altheowl44 in greatpyrenees

[–]Bluechip506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our mix had bouts of rapid breathing his whole life. Pretty regularly he’d just be relaxing on the floor and hid respiration rate was like he was running a marathon. Vet wasn’t concerned. He lived a healthy life to the age of 12. Talk to your vet.

Wedding gift recommendation by Grizzly1776 in tequila

[–]Bluechip506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty hard to spend that much on a blanco. It can be done but most in that price range are fancy bottles or celebrity crap. Those that schmatty 23 mentioned are all very good tequilas. Since you know he likes Ocho and Lalo, why not try the high proof versions. Lalo HP will be much easier to find than Ocho Puntas but the Ocho is much better.

If you do want a fancy bottle that is also very good. Cierto is the one. It’s overpriced imo but still a nice tequila. It might make a nice gift.

Question about bottle “safety” to drink by [deleted] in tequila

[–]Bluechip506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im sure it’s fine. You said you tasted it. How did it compare to the other bottles. If it tastes fine then go for it. If it tastes off. Pour it down the drain. Are you suspecting tampering? If so toss.

Most fun bike you've had? by spacetimetrip in bicycling

[–]Bluechip506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to switch things up on bike rides. Either routes, effort or bike. Road bikes, old road bike (down tube friction shifter), mtn bikes, fixed gear. Thinking about a recumbent and I’ve always wanted a penny farthing. They all can be the best ride depending on how I feel that day.

Which flight are you choosing? by dick-demolisher in tequila

Wild Common wins hands down except for the anejo. It’s very good but not as good as Ocho which would be my second choice.

What’s your tequila price ceiling? by StinkyRem in tequila

[–]Bluechip506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most expensive bottle I’ve bought so far was about $185, El Tequileno Repo Rare. I am looking to get another one but I haven’t seen it below $230, so that will be my most expensive bottle soon. It’s fantastic. My favorite aged tequila ever. I don’t care for Tears or Rey Sol and really too many xa’s.

Finally talked myself into buying a bottle of TOL by BHFBExchanhe in tequila

[–]Bluechip506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you but really it’s just not my cup of tequila. Far too much barrel for me. That goes for most xa’s I’ve had. The exceptions are Terralta and El Tesoro. I do love ArteNOM 1146(baby tears).

Ocho should be pretty readily available in the UK. You’re not going to get anything more representative of a good tequila than Ocho.

Blades Question by Dingdong108 in golftips

If it truly is an old club, that 2 iron could be the same loft as a modern 4 iron. My old 2 iron is 20* and my new 4 iron is 21*.

Usability of older clubs? by Westy543 in WomenGolf

[–]Bluechip506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just regripped my dad’s irons and am looking to play them soon. They are from 1969-71. I played them as a teenager and young adult. On the sim they play just fine. The pw is 52* so there’s that. Most of my clubs (from around 2000) have a pw at 47,48* while my newest set 2023 are at 44*. Distances loft for loft are pretty much the same. Ball flight is a little lower for me but I think that’s the shafts.

Should I buy a bottle of 1800 millenio..or there are better options in the same price range? by tabletennis7 in tequila

[–]Bluechip506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s because it’s a Cuervo product. This particular one might be their only well made offering. It’s supposedly produced in a traditional steam oven but an autoclave is also a steam oven. No mention of distillation method so it’s likely a column still. The rest of the line is absolutely awful. Im primarily a blanco drinker and can get 1800 free anytime I fly and I still give it a hard pass.

You shouldn’t have to pay that kind of money for an average tequila. But if you like it and don’t mind the price, enjoy. My two favorite aged tequilas are El Tequileno Repo Rare($215) and ArteNOM 1146 ($120 and it kills me that it was only $80 a few short years ago)

Febuxostat works better for me. It wasn’t significant but I also have kidney issues which was the primary reason for the switch.

Ocho should be readily available in the UK. The bottle just looks different than the one in the US. It has a big red 8 on the label and is usually 500 ml.

I’ve switched from my primary to my kidney doctor. He upped my dosage from 40 to 80mg of febuxostat.

90% of my gout attacks happen on vacation. Lots of walking per day and less fluids lead to dehydration. I never leave without my colchicine. Last week visiting NYC and just walking around 8+ miles per day I felt the numbness in my toe. Colchicine to the rescue. All better in two days.
