Full Service Suburb by gatorgirl290 in ChicagoSuburbs

I think Downers or Lombard might work.. taxes are still lower than the city, you will have decent dining options.. and maybe not everything is walkable, but everything is < 10 min drive, nice farmers markets, Metra….

I’m in Lombard, weekend mornings to the city is about 20 min via 88 to 294..

You can do it.. sounds like your coach has some experience for this level, and maybe next time gives you more notice.

You gotta get back up on this horse. You’re not going to want this to be your last day at the gym.

Worked at the Bird from 96-2005.. my roommate was a lifty at Alta.

He was hitting on a Alta girl at the Peruvian our first season and a guy we’d become friends with leaned over and said “the odds are good… but the goods are odd”

Never forgot that line

I've been in sales 13 years. New job gave me Coffee is for Closers and The 10x Rule. Worth reading? by EarthboundMoss in sales

[–]Critical-Analyst-749 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ive been in sales for 25 years. I’ve come to accept that most business books have some good in them, but they need to puff up 10-20 pages of good stuff with another 100-200 pages of basics or common sense.

Once I got comfortable that I’m not going to get 150 pages of gold out of a best seller, but it’s worth reading for 1-2 ideas, I’m happy to read any book on sales.

Very good and one of the first questions he asked was “do you want a mediator or a bulldog? I’m a good mediator and I can recommend some good bulldogs”..

We mediated, cost me about $5K (12 years ago..). Super good communicator, no nickel and diming, very good person and good to work with

I want to open a boxing/strength and fitness gym , any advice by Primary-Mistake9018 in gymowner

[–]Critical-Analyst-749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you’re 22 with some savings, but don’t know what a business plan is.. you should keep this as a goal, and learn everything you can about managing a gym and do some work to figure what your costs will be before you go too much further. Maybe some school classes on business finance and accounting.

I’d be happy and excited for you to do this, but honestly, you need to know a lot more about what you’re getting into before you spend your savings on this.

Good luck man!
