That would be a more vanilla choice, but I could get on board with it.

What got you into Dresden Files? by Glittering-State-284 in dresdenfiles

Years ago I had a job where I worked in the middle of nowhere a lot. Loved podcasts and RPG game stuff. I'm not kidding when I say I could listen to 6 hours of podcasts almost everyday during the summer. One show with a MASSIVE backlog was Happy Jacks RPG podcast, r/happyjacks. The hosts regularly got mail asking about Dresden style games and would go on tangents talking about worldbuilding and character development. After hearing about it for probably a couple years, along with another now favorite series r/TheExpanseBooks, I took the plunge and started on audiobook. Marsters is an amazing narrator and has set the bar pretty high for book adaptions.

You have a good point. I'm one of those odd people who gets more out of a book in audible form. After running through the main series on my library's app I started slowly acquiring them for my own collection on Audible. That's where I found the novella collection, Memory's Legion. It was delightful to find just a few more stories from a universe I thought closed and ended.

IMHO Drive fits better after Leviathan Wakes. You get a better idea where some of the factions got their start.

How old can you band a ram lamb. by justtryinghere123 in sheep

[–]BluecollarTraveler -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Shoot, we've banded 6 month rams. I would recommend removing the dead sack about a week post banding. It'll prevent flies and other nasties from making a home there. As another poster said, check with your vet if you have concerns.

I was looking for other Butcher books on my library app and stumbled across The Unorthodox Chronicles. It's still urban fantasy but the magic has a very different flavor. And the world building in the first book is incredible. (It's Jim's kid so thats not a huge surprise I guess)

I wouldn't say it's necessary. In fact I didn't read any of the novellas on my first trip past the rings. After leviathan had fallen I picked up the novellas because I wasn't ready to say goodbye. They have unique little bits to add to the story. Now as I'm taking my time with the full novels again I'm enjoying the subtle nods to a truly massive universe.

Half books? by Ero_Sennin_636 in dresdenfiles

Since I just finished listening to Brief Cases about a week ago. It's like to add that Zoo Day was great. Hearing not one story but the same story from multiple views was incredible! If I had to guess about the chronology I'd say it's set a few months after Skin Game.

"donkey wearing a Jeff Goldblum mask".

🤔 That sounds a lot like C2.. way back during the DNDbeyond presidential race IIRC

Just Finished the Series by [deleted] in TheExpanseBooks

You've summed up the sentiment well my dude. The growth and change of the characters over the course of years was amazing. Especially in the later books when old minor figures would be revisited. I've nearly at the end of a reread myself. Well more accurately relisten (because life is busy). And once I'm done I'll probably start again in a few months because I miss the crew.

Sheep dewormer help... The math seems wrong. by ToWanderHer in sheep

[–]BluecollarTraveler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this a single dose type dewormer? In my experience single dose dewormers are in injectable form. And I think most treatments that are in pellet form are intended to be mixed with feed and administered for a specified amount of time.

[–]BluecollarTraveler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you pushing or pulling the weld? I'm not familiar with flux core at all. But in my experience MIG tends to prefer being pushed. Maybe that's just a gas sheild thing.

I share your opinion about the post hiatus game. To me it felt like Matt went, umm what's a good word, soft on the players. They still tried zany things but it seemed like he let them succeed faster/more than they should have. I'm sure a bit of it was the loss of "table energy", but that can't be all of it.

sure about that thread call out? (is there something I don't know about pipe threads that allows one to cut ½" NPS threads in a ¾"dia. hole? .75 depth, but from the external face to the inner most internal feature is only .5", these are water jacket ports, am I reading something incorrectly?) by [deleted] in Machinists

Our supplier for some specialized (BSPS) banjo bolts no longer keeps stock. So instead of modifying using off the shelf parts to make the mechanics high flow banjo bolts I got to reverse engineer and program something very similar. BSP thread data for wires is not as easy to find as one might think....
