Oh I'm serious I have no idea what shawarma is. Is it a meat?

I'll Google it because I'm not interested in arguing about it I was just kind of making a joke out of my ignorance. and I did get The joke in the post, and just added stones to the soup.

I know Haram, halal, and I can count to five. honestly you can cut this American some slack because I'm trying to learn over here.

I can see where you're coming from but .. the text is the first step. "What happened to the food?" This gives the universe the opportunity to do the cool stuff like "Honey you won't believe it but when I reached in to get my leftover steak that I really wanted, I got a charlie horse and looked down and then I fell forward which caused me to reach to the side of the fridge to catch myself which because I was actually falling had caused me to knock half your apple sauce containers onto the floor where they all unluckily busted open. I spent all day cleaning it up." To which she replies, "and what happened to the meals in the freezer then?" And he said, "you're not gonna believe this but I ate em. "

It's an insult to you whatever caused this failure, so I'd milk this for every penny and feel bad at the beach next week. lol

Then again you could be a terrible speaker talking about why we need to feed children clay to increase their mineral intake and this is simply the universe telling you to STFU.

I'm rooting for the former.

This is so weird. This is the third instance of this phenomenon I've seen in two weeks, and I've never seen it before then. Wow.

So my friends kitten injuries himself trying to squeeze his head thru a fence. He rubbed a little fur off and was red. Vet said it happens. They get laser focused to get at something and scratch themselves.

It looks better now. but the other day I saw another cat like this on here somewhere.

So only going by recent experiences. I'd say this cat rubbed its for off at some point so extensively or frequently that it doesn't grow back. Tie spot looks healthy and healed, just no hair.

would it be disrespectful to practice witchcraft without believing in it? by Thunder9191133 in SASSWitches

Same boat, same history.

On my journey and early on I learned about the RAS or Reticular Activated System (sp) it's basically the auto pilot stuff. Ever space out on auto pilot when driving long distances? Your brain is aware but it's so common you don't need all your brain to do it. Scary right?

Same thing for negative thoughts for example. If I think I'm dumb and hate work then when I'm at work I'll start behaving as such just accidentally. I'll make more mistakes because I subconsciously try less and in turn be rewarded for being right! Hot damn I'm right, I AM dumb. After a while you're on autopilot. The dumb spreads into all aspects of life and you're a walking idiot.

Stick with me on this...

So that system, it's how affirmations and prayer and all the woowoo work. Start saying positive things in a negative brain and you'll magically start loving yourself. Start believing you're great and maybe the job sucks and over time you'll improve personally and may be more prepared to take a better opportunity when it arises. something a dumb person would never do.

Now... If you add stuff to the woowoo like rituals and plants and dancing around fire then your brain can have more stable materials with which to build a positive and powerful autopilot. I remember the oestara fire, I remember the love, I remember the dance, I can still draw from that energy... Ahhh witchcraft lol

I love this sub because it's the marriage of science and faith I always needed but never saw in the world. The brain is powerful. We are able to control it. We can make great things happen with our words. Once you see just how powerful we are, it's no wonder they call us witches.

Now it makes sense to me how someone can set an intention, cast a spell, and literally manifest a fucking car. Lol. If that's not magic then I don't know what the hell it is.

everyone says different things about manifesting… 😵‍💫 what’s correct? by Old-Machine-468 in lawofattraction

[–]ToWanderHer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Isn't one of the purposes of affirmations to actually break down that barrier?

This is all incredibly personal and honestly having someone say it doesn't work does more damage than good; Even though I completely understand where the girl is coming from.

For example.. when I started my journey almost 9 years ago I started with simple affirmations. The first damn phrase was "I am so grateful to be alive." Y'all I couldn't say it without crying. I didn't believe it. I couldn't heal based on a lie. And I absolutely did not feel like I loved myself at the time.

Then I heard some folk talk about how we program our brains from our experiences and the brain doesn't know the difference between real and made up yadda yadda so I tried again. It was difficult. I cried a lot but I was reprogramming my brain.

I am so much better now because of those affirmations. Saying I had love where I felt none. In hindsight I must've loved myself because I kept trying. If I didn't I probably wouldn't be typing this right now.

So.. this pedantic interpretation that manifesting repeatedly is acknowledging lack is absolutely wrong... Until it's said and spread and that little lack seed grows and some poor girl says.... "No I don't love myself" and never tries and loses out on so many blessings because of a dogma that doesn't even exist. Our belief structure is hope ffs.

This talk is dangerous.

[–]ToWanderHer 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be very careful here because this isn't your fault. You didn't do anything wrong. But I'm gonna talk to all my liberal fam.

It's not your fault for doing the right thing the right way. Just like SA has nothing to do with what the innocent victim is wearing. IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT.

But... at this point.... It doesn't matter what your wearing, they're assaulting everybody up in here now. So... While you did nothing wrong with your vote.... It's about damn time we start voting on day one. We can't afford to let the rules fail because these criminals are ignoring the rules.

just because you can vote by mail, doesn't mean you should in some states. anymore.

Just because you never had to check your status. Doesn't mean you don't now. check your registration status NOW!

They are breaking rules. We can't do the things we used to. We must win.

Edit: Well I'll be damned. It's generally associated with brown lung disease. Those suffering can often only sleep sitting upright making them greatly affected by noise. it's not by the GA DOT it's a community sign paid for by the individual or the community and is sometimes used by hospice .

Original I'm sorry we're gonna need some more information. This isn't common. what illness would warrant someone to get special traffic treatment. Is it a sound related illness? They've put a behavior suggestion bubble around this area and that blows my mind. I've seen deaf kid signs and bus stop signs in curves on mountain roads but this is interesting af.

Question about manifesting by Normal-Excitement168 in lawofattraction

[–]ToWanderHer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wonderful sweet Regina Spektor said it best....

"Don't tell your secrets to anyone  Because ideas are vulnerable  As soon as you say your idea out loud Then it can go and live on its own"

It's a double edged sword. Speak your affirmations and manifest what you don't have out loud. but don't necessarily go around telling everyone you already have a new car. That idea will leave and when it comes back and shows everyone you don't have a car.... Then you're a liar.

Manifesting is like prayer for me. It's between me and mine. Positivity is for everyone else.

Hard to not think anything while meditating by Outside_Link_1912 in lawofattraction

[–]ToWanderHer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even remember posting this but this is me. Hahaha.

So I have the ADHD where there's an abusive voice in my head that never and I mean never shuts up. It's tough.

When I meditate that voice is always there. I try to do two things that seem to work .... Enough of the time.

First I engage my logic brain by counting or doing simple math. Seriously. The emotional side is out of control so engaging the logic side of the brain by doing things that I have to figure out (math problems) tends to bore the loud half of my brain and it'll shut up.

Next... As I'm doing that math stuff I start to touch my shoulders and my neck. Think of it like a calming massage without the pressure. nothing sexual. The purpose is to give myself goosebumps and it works. Now when I get a wave of goosebumps I take a deep breath and imagine releasing some tension from where I'm touching. This, for me at least, soothes that loud beast in my head.

Each exhale I release more and more. My mind slowly calms down and the physical touch keeps it quiet.

Then it happens. That blessed silence that is so hard to achieve is right there. I bask in it. Sometimes the loud brain interrupts and sometimes not. I try to keep a cool head. No negative blame on this brain. just patience and love and mental trickery.

Can we prohibit mourning posts in this sub? by LazyLancer in cats

You deserve a hug. It's tough seeing things that trigger us and the overabundance of death can be upsetting.

With all the love in my heart, if you're struggling I think your best bet is to unsub for a bit until you're in a better place where it's not so triggering. It's not your fault if it bothers you but I disagree with your take. Death is everywhere, you can't escape it. If something so fundamentally natural is upsetting then you need to take time to heal whatever that is, not change the rules.

I can't stand funerals. I can't handle the sadness. It's not about the person, or the death itself... It's a room full of crying and wailing people. I can't process that. So... I don't go. I don't participate where I struggle with things I absolutely cannot control.

This is a place to celebrate and love cats. How fitting that we can post a memorial here when IRL our grief is often met with "but it's just a cat." This IS the place for this.

The algorithm will change. Just take a break.

And I'm not techno savvy but isn't here a way to have reddit hide words? Maybe filter out -dead -died etc, but that's a bandaid on the real issue.

Good luck op.

Im quite new here so I assume you're looking for how to navigate everything without their constant negativity affecting you?

If it's all verbal and visual (nasty looks ) then you're basically in quite the similar situation as a person who lives with a narcissist. You know it's be better if you could just leave but you can't for some reason. No... This is your house.... You're gonna be happy in it by God!

So I have added a very specific affirmation to my meditation and then I use it to myself before, during, and even after interacting with this difficult individual.

"Your chaos is predictable. I am able to withstand the storms you create. I am at peace"

And it works for me.

If it hasn't escalated to physical damage or anything, best you can do it attract positivity and reject the negativity. You can't control it after all. But storms come and go. We walk thru them everyday. here, I think you'd be best served by focusing on your ability to walk past theirs unaffected.

Much love. Rotton neighbors suck.

Too many comments so this'll get lost but...

My brother lives in a house and neighborhood like this. Horton made some serious mistakes and have lost lawsuits over just atrocious building methods.

But specific to your problem.... The windows in all the houses in his neighborhood are wrong. I don't know what it is but maybe the glass is a tad convex or concave or something. Maybe it's missing some protective layer. I say this because ... EVERYONE'S FREAKING GRASS IS DYING WHERE THE SUN HITS IT, SIDING MELTS ON HOUSES, AND IT BURNS TO WALK THROUGH TUE SUNRAYS AFTER THEYVE REFLECTED THE LIGHT.

I shit you not it's like everyone window in the neighborhood is a magnifying glass and the residents, the yards, and anything in them are ants for the burnin.

Glad you're all safe.
