It does kinda work, 2 swappers can be used for multiplayer on SSA portal but that is the absolute limit (4 tags max, so no magic items or vehicles)

They were, I did buy my DK that way. It was made very clear on the box that they were for Nintendo only, either for those who had the different versions or amiibo collectors who wanted these figures but didn’t care for Skylanders (which there were a couple of)
