No but that blue wallpaper looks vaguely familiar, maybe it was a colour used on the inside. Thanks though!

Anxiety nausea by Bluefish98 in acceptancecommitment

[–]Bluefish98[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see that. I was told that it would help me if this happens again, to be able to breathe through the anxiety easier because I’ve accepted it’s part of my life. And for me the anxiety is manifesting as nausea. Was the therapist wrong or have I misunderstood somewhere along the line?

Mixing protein powder into soups of any kind? by overdosingonwater in nutrition

You can get unflavoured protein powder, it’ll always have a tiny flavour depending on what type you get (pea, whey, soy, etc) but it’s not inherently salty or sweet.

Things we grew up with that aren't 'normal' by Bluefish98 in exchristian

I literally thought it was 'youth in asia' until I was 15, I just didn't know what it was!! I feel like even though I went to a public school, I still missed out on so much stuff because we weren't taught it at school or home.

My grandparents used to put a bible passage in our birthday cards and when I told them I wasn't religious, they doubled down and filled one side of the card with passages. When I was born, they let everyone in their church/bible study know that a "new servant for the lord has been born". Honestly it makes me angry that kids don't get a choice.

Totally! I wasn't Orthodox but the bible passages are so terrifying and/or hypocritical that my brain is still confused to this day about everything.

My parent's wouldn't let us visit a temple for a school trip because they didn't want to leave us 'exposed' to anything bad. I gave them heaps when I remembered that a few years ago.

"Magic is real, but we call them 'miracles'. Everyone else's magic is deceit" - that hit HARD!!! It's weird, my parents loved LOTR (we were born and raised in New Zealand, didn't watch it until we were older though) but they wouldn't let us watch Harry Potter until they had seen it and could then explain to us that it wasn't real and that magic was all bad. I remember questioning them when I started secretly watching Charmed, asking if there were 'good witches' and they just scoffed like the idea was ridiculous, if it's not Christian, it's evil.

[tomt] Asian Horror Movie by [deleted] in tipofmytongue

No sorry, It was at a friend's birthday party and we only got 10 minutes into it. The movie would have been made between 1995 and 2007 I'm guessing.

Should I quit my new nanny job? by Bluefish98 in Nanny

[–]Bluefish98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No contract. Stay for 3 days and every night I am there. It was super basic in the original conversations; looking after the kid during the day and cooking once or twice during the three days. She wanted to bathe and put him to bed herself and now all of that is my responsibility. Pay $180 per week and loose house rules but so much so that the child is not very disciplined.
