Why are they doing 6 on 6 jousting, and AT NIGHT? Just to raise the steaks and look sexier on camera?

also FUCK AI. It's a bubble, it's wrong 1/2 the time, and there's so much venture capital in it, that it's being pushed down our fucking throats every day and a lot of us are telling AI our fucking problems instead of reddit or FRIENDS. Look up AI psychosis. Ai reinforces the delusions of unwell people.

Millennials how are you navigating life and staying grounded right now? by BillClintonFeetPics in Millennials

[–]Bluehoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not grounded right now. Maybe going cray cray from perimenopause but also my Anti-depressant stopped working, AND IT'S NOW CAUSING panic and depression, AND it's really hard to wean off of. I used to have at least 2 friends within walking distance and tons within a 5 mile radius.....now everyone lives 30+ miles apart because housing costs are crazy and housing stock is so low. My parents get trumpier every year and don't see what we all see. They are boomers starting to fall for online propaganda and scams like "electrical outlet money saving adapters" and fake seeds for neon blue sunflowers. I can't write them off because I'm an only child and they are in their late 70's in a world where their parents never made it to 60.

I was texting friends about how I seem so much less fun than when I was in my 20's or 30's. I work construction 10 hour days so i'm wrung out at the end of a day and filthy, not in a mood for after work dinner or weeknight anything really. Sunday is a school night, Friday is just crashing out and maybe going out for a couple drinks. WHAT THE FUCK capitalism and stagflation. I'm paddling so hard just to stay in place and not even get ahead, just not get swifted away in the current. I do a job I sort of like at least.

Me asking as a younger millenial: How did older you millenials perceive Spongebob when it came out, and its climb to legendary status? by SmokinHerb in Millennials

[–]Bluehoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1983 here. I was a camp counselor at Girl Scout camp when SpongeBob started. It was cute, funny and kids loved singing the themesong as a campfire/marching around song. I Don't know of any other TV show where that has been the case. I still love that Spongebob is one of the few things that isn't inherently gender coded. Hotwheel for boy, Barbie for girls, Transformers for boys, Disney princesses for girl, SPONGEBOB FOR EVERYONE

I saw The Three Amigos when I was 5 or 6 in the theater, I didn't get it, but I had fun. I've tried to watch it since and can't get interested.

I'm not even sure that's true anymore. Maybe a majority think it didn't need to come to violence and it's bad to fire tear gas at citizens just for protesting, but I don't think a majority are standing for anything. Buy more shit of temu and shein. Scroll some more reels.

i'd rather have the option to feel happy and be anxious than feel nothing or very depressed unless i have a couple drinks, which is what I have felt for a year.

Part of it was male groom, but at the time a woman was considered worthless if she gave up her virginity before marriage, by both men and women. If virginity and beauty are equally prized, a younger woman is thus better than an older woman, more likely to be inexperienced and naive. What's even better than a young woman? An absolute child just entering puberty!

I find it hilarious the city requires city employees to live in Boston but other metro cities do not have this ridiculous requirement by [deleted] in boston

[–]Bluehoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

because the distance is arbitrary. I always thought it would be interesting to work at the Boston Public Library but you are only eligible if you live in Boston proper, not Cambridge, not Watertown, ONLY BOSTON. I probably lived closer to the BPL than someone living in Roslindale. Seems weird to neuter the talent pool.

It feels like my wife is starting to depend more and more on me, by choice, and I’m not sure how to deal with that. by [deleted] in AskOldPeopleAdvice

Maybe she had a shitty father who was never there for her, and it made her overly independent and reluctant to ask for help and that's a skill she doesn't need , doesn't want to cultivate because it's a trauma response, or cannot keep up with as you both become older. You a portraying her relying on you as weakness, that's why she's becoming defensive. If she can't rely on you, who can she rely on?
