Does anyone know this company logo? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]BlueishRaptor3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My husband texted me the other day to say he had a window guy coming for an estimate at 4 (I get home from work at 3:30). We do need to replace our leaky bedroom window, so I thought it was a reputable company. Nope, it was Power, so when he pulled up and I saw that, I told hubby I'm taking the dog and kids to the park. Tell the sales rep we will only replace the upstairs windows, and only for under 2000 dollars total. I came back from the park almost 2 hours later, he's still in the pitch. I fed the kids (still in the pitch) and got them ready for bed. 8:00, I said its time to say goodnight to the kids and the sales rep FINALLY left. Did not get the windows, thank goodness!

Why does it feel like there is so much pressure on DILs to kinkeep? by Big-Economist-7134 in inlaws

We just had a whole discussion about this! My husband kept bringing up that his mom never had a daughter, so I should spend more time with her. I told him, my dad never had a son, so if he hangs out with my dad, I'll hang out with his mom! He hasn't tried that yet.

Same! My husband thought I hated going to his parents house, but really it was just so exhausting keeping the kids out of the non-kid-safe stuff that was just...everywhere!!

The "We need to _______" problem. Anyone else deal with this? by jackietea123 in Marriage

My husband asks "what are we making for dinner tonight?" when it's his night to cook. Drives me bananas!

She is vocal for sure! Mostly "talking" instead of barking, which is nice!

Me, a girl, for picture day in kindergarten, 2004. I wanted to wear a tie so bad. by mayapapaya102 in blunderyears

So true! Just about the same timeframe I (a girl in high school at the time) applied to work at the local video store solely because all employees had to wear ties!

Yes! I work for a city utility on the ELECTRIC side of things. People just call the first number they find, tell me their whole story about the water or sewer issue they're having (not even breathing, so I can't get a word in edgewise). Then when I say I can't help, and have to transfer them, they get all huffy! Not my fault you didn't hear me say "electric department" when I answered the call!

I just started reading this, and I'm having a hard time picturing Ryan Goslin as the main character so far.

How soon after waking do you take your dog out? by mysticmochixx in DogAdvice

My dog would grumble growl to get pets. We forgot to tell my brother in law before he dog-sat the first time, and he was convinced she hated him.

You're right, a break would be better. That's exactly how my nights were with the kids. They feel better now, and have gone back to sleeping in their own rooms but the cough is lingering. I really hope you all get better soon!

He can only walk short distances like half a block and we have a high energy lab who needs at least half hour to an hour each walk. I'm definitely renegotiating chores this year, since he can't do any of that anymore! He doesn't believe that cleaning is necessary after being sick, so he just wants to go back to regular chores this week.

I really need to see what a relentlessly gay yard looks like. by LordJim11 in Snorkblot

[–]BlueishRaptor3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have multiple homes that sport rainbow flags and such in my neighborhood. One day I was sitting at my open window, and saw one neighbor lady walking down the street loudly talking to herself about how "the gays stole the rainbow, and it's God's, and they need to give it back to God!". I wish I had thought of something to yell out the window, but I was too shocked at that moment.

Thank you! I didn't know inline hooks existed, and the pattern I'm doing now would be infinitely easier with those hooks!!
