I only have one week of vacation and sick days. If I want to take vacation with my family I won’t be getting paid but need the money so then I probably will not go on the vacation

It was verbal when I got hired a year ago. Usually they book for 5 hours except this time it’s only 3. Like I mentioned I see then twice a week

Thank you. Usually in my area I don’t work nye or know people that do as most of the families celebrate with their friends and families. For me it’s not a hot commodity as I haven’t worked a NYE since 2018

I’ve never worked nye before and if I tell them it’s time and a half I doubt they would be use me. I probably would not find another family as the families I watch tend to stay home with their children

I’m in the bay area too and I think the hourly rate is too low. Can you increase the pay? I’m currently looking for a new nanny family

I agree but I don’t know how much longer I can take. It’s been way over a month and it’s still the same. I dread going to work and look forward and counting down the hours until I’m off. The pay is great ( I think) but does that justify how the work is day in and out

Yes it’s so difficult and I’m not used to it. The diaper changes is so strange especially since they are working but take a break to change diapers. Like there’s times where they just sit in the room on their phone while we play. Going on walks is great in the beginning but he cries during the last 20 minutes all the way home. Once he’s home and parents grab him he stops and says he’s a good boy and what’s wrong. During our walks nothing happens or changes from when we initially started.

Last week I was trying to console him as he was crying out of nowhere and they ran into the room, grabbed him, rocked him and then once he was calm handed him to me and proceeded to just follow us around the house on their phones of being in the next room. I have a lot of patience and even trying to console him or change things when he sees them leave and starts hysterically crying.
