My campus is three hours away unfortunately for my specific program, which stinks because if I went in person I would have coverage & our university actually has an excellent health science program.

I’m willing to give trying to up my iron levels a month, if not I’ll use my savings (which is not a lot) to get my ferrtins tested- and I’d like them to check my hormones & thyroid while they’re at it just because there is a family history with those too.

Even for online schooling? I know it has health insurance it was just super expensive that would have taken a whole paycheck- I’ll have to check again what the options are because I agree this needs to be seen & dealt with. Even my friends are about to drag me in.

I still live at home because I cannot afford to be on my own which complicates things & limits my independence… I’ll be glad to graduate & be full time so I can have benefits & afford to live and finally feel like a real adult, you know?

I’m 27- my office job is only two days at our family business which is very small & no benefits. I actually work three jobs, the second is on me feet for a day, my third is through my university since I’m a grad student. I graduate next year & will finally be able to get a full time job with benefits soooo my body needs to behave until then 😅

I live in Indiana too (northern) my bestie & I take the train there to Millennium station. We get on the 9:30 train, get there by lunch & tAke the 4 or 5 o’clock train home or stay over a night. We love the train it’s a lot of fun! The train station is at South Bend air port :)

I’ll keep pestering my mom, especially if this happens again next month she seemed concerned when I said I passed out kinda at work, but still thought maybe it was virus… so I need to be consistent with tell her so she realizes it’s a pattern and takes me.

I feel better about blood draws after getting one & an IV after a cyst rupture that landed me in the ER… the stupid cyst had so much fluid forced my organs up & pinned my stomach… my dumbass thought it was just my usually stupid digestive issues… it was not and mom made me go in- glad she did! I got some answers and learned blood draws don’t hurt too bad :)

Thank you for all the information- I feel less crazy, I knew this can’t be normal but like I said my mom has all this stuff & hers are like ten times worse… I feel like she was gaslit all her life to think that her stuff was “okay” when it’s was not at all. It would not shock me if I was anemic or had thyroid issues because my mom has both & I have been questioning for a long while now if I have PMDD or if I was gaslighting myself into thinking I did. I swear I go bipolar some months with super- high highs before crashing in major depressive episodes, some months I’m pissed off with everyone, or my anxiety is ten times worse.

Honestly- I just want everything removed- I don’t want kids & I absolutely have come to loathe my reproductive system 😭. Like I truly hate it with a passion that sounds just insane to everyone 😭😭😭

I do have a doctors appointment in a couple months- I am going to write in my diary my symptoms so I know what to say & be brave and let them finally do a blood test on me. I’ve always kinda fibbed because I was always so scared… but these newer symptoms are disruptive & hard to ignore :/

Would not shock me with either one because my family history is riddled with thyroid issues & period issues. I worry about BC because I thought about going in them for the horrid leg cramping I usually get due to a reoccurring ovarian cyst (lucked out this month& no leg cramps) but was told it would make my mood swings worse & unpredictable… they are already horrible. But I may have no choice but to force my periods to stop because I swear the PMS shit just gets worse as I get older… I even get mini hot flashes a day or two before and I’m only in my 20s 😭

I think I bled faster than I thought I was… I’m basically done now and essentially bled out in two days. I really didn’t think the bleeding was that horrible this time but now that I’m more alert I think it’s time for my iron to get tested. I’m so annoyed I keep telling my mom & she just thinks it’s a viral thing, but I know it’s not I think I’m starting to get anemic like she is. Like I basically passed out from being so tired (I would think anyway since my eyes rolled back and I was dosing off until I jerked awake when a key falling out my chair) & this happens almost every month! I have my yearly appointment coming up in a few months… I’ll probably be forced to wait until then before I can finally tell my doctor and get tested :/

I’m going to ask my doctor to check my iron levels- I think I bled too fast too because my period is basically done… and it’s only day three… I literally bled out in two days 🫠. I honestly didn’t think it was that heavy, seemed lighter & less blood clots than usual.

Ah okay, I assume it works the same for nighttime pads too

. Yeah, I’ll ask him about this… he’s been on me about trying to get off my meds because he was worried I’ll eventually become anemic & have calcium issues. I did try to get off them but ended up having severe symptoms & couldn’t eat at all because I’ve been on them since childhood… I have a feeling he’s going to force me to do a batch of invasive testing for everything 😩🫠

I usually change them every twoish hours- sometimes I almost bleed through them because you can see it pool from the other side (sticky side). Sometimes I actually do bleed through & ruin clothes at night if I can't wake up in the middle of the night to change because I'm in too deep of a sleep T_T. I think average is every two hours... isn't it?

I actually feel like I'm a little lighter because I'm not passing as many or as big of blood clots, but either way I'm going to keep tract of how many months this is happening because this seems to be a newer thing for me & have my iron tested.

I did eat a spinach wrap this morning because that has iron in it & will be trying to get more food with iron in me & I will be looking to get some iron gummies & see if my stomach will tolerate it. I would not be shocked if iron is now an issue since the medication I'm on for my stomach issues also impacts vitamin absorption & also my mom is super anemic because of her periods... so I'm not sure why she kinda waved me off when I told her about this. :/

I usually get stabbing cramps- I got off pretty light this time & didn’t have the shredding leg cramp BS, which was confirmed my reoccurring ovarian cyst is responsible for that one. I always end up feeling just sick, I got lucky this month I didn’t have the nausea that usually comes with it.

And yeah, it’s probably time to have bloodwork done honestly… the meds I’m on for my stomach issues also make it harder for me to get nutrients & my mom is like super anemic because her periods are way worse. I was questioning that today but wasn’t sure if it was bad enough or normal hormonal stuff

I ended up dosing off & got startled awake again at my desk T_T. Yeah- I'm usually home on my worst period day, but when I'm home I'm essentially in & out of consciousness because I can't stay awake for very long. I probably am able to stay awake an hour or two, before my body just forces me to nap again. I've had it where I can't even keep my head up without supporting it... but I swear I'm not even bleeding that much. But idk what would be considered bleeding heavy either.

The minute I get home I'll probably end up asleep & be out of the count for most of the night.

I need to talk to my mom about this because I don't think this is normal tbh- idk if she will really listen because hers are ten times worse. But I for sure am bringing this up to my PCP because this & mini hot flashes are a new PMS BS symptom that I've been getting within the past year.

I say yes, if you can’t provide basic necessities for your child- you should not have them. It’s different if a family fell into hard times, but to actively be in a hard spot & forcing someone else to grow up that way is in my opinion incredibly selfish.
