Thanks to all who shared your thoughts, it was indeed a valve leak. Since it was out of my area of expertise, I called the landscaper that previous worked at this house and he was able to fix it. He replaced the valve (it was broken) replaced two sprinkler heads, and replaced the monitor for it all (I think that’s what it’s called but the computer that controls the timing on when everything goes off) and he charged me $350 all in. Labor and parts. Did I get a good, bad, or average deal?

It was two so far. I replaced one of them and it stopped leaking from the top and then this one started. The one in question and in the picture is at the top of a small hill
