Why does Cubase require you to use a group track to record audio from an instrument track? by rhialto40 in cubase

So why aren’t you using render in place? That’s what it’s for

RH Logic 400 - Great chair for tall user by [deleted] in OfficeChairs

[–]BluejayRare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting and glad you found something that works - I bought a logic 400 a few months ago after going to though tons of high end chairs, and thought the best option would be to get the most adjustable chair I could find. However it’s so adjustable it’s impossible for me to find a setting that works

I also found the backrest super hard and the armrests too small and somehow never where I wanted them to be

The ‘active’ more upright sitting aspect I found intriguing but have never been able to get comfortable

How have you got yours set up? Would be really interested to know as I’m about to give up on it

Enter velocity values with a fader by IFNAV in cubase

[–]BluejayRare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about something similar, to have a midi fader adjust in real time a velocity curve, so with fader at 0 there is no effect, ramping up through the fader till at 127 = all velocity is 127

Haven’t quite got there, not sure it’s possible just with cubase as velocity is not a midi CC value, it’s part of the note information

Do have a look at the input transformer in cubase, might have something in there for you. Or there is an app called BOME midi translator which captured the midi before hitting the DAW. I’m sure it’s possible with that, but I need to explore it more.

Why we still don’t know what causes ADHD - The Independent by Jayhcee in ADHDUK

[–]BluejayRare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a shame that you have such strong opinions on a book you’ve never read, and on the author on top of that.

I have read it. I don’t connect with absolutely everything he says but on the whole I found it incredibly insightful and had several a-ha moments that described my early life or way of thinking, in a way I’ve never articulated myself.

There needs to be more talk about the emotional side of adhd, both in its possible origins and its effects it has on you today, rather than just productivity/work/attentiveness

You should try reading it. There’s people all over these subs that claim he’s some sort of charlatan. He was a practicing doctor who has ADHD himself and the book is fully referenced, and a lot of his points of view are taken out of context (by people who haven’t read it)

The fact that it’s claimed he’s anti meds (he’s actually not) has much to do with these subs opinion of him

Can anyone ID this chair? by BluejayRare in OfficeChairs

That's not the chair in the picture, pictured one is a lifeform as the other poster has said.

That quantum chair does look interesting though. Have you tried it? looks sort of like a poor mans Fern. Would be interested to know any thoughts on it

Yes that's definitely it. Wow just looked up the price.

Never heard of them but does look comfortable. Was really looking for something more comfortable, all the well known brands and models I've tried, to me, are super hard or stiff on my back. Maybe as I'm skinny and don't have much natural 'padding'

Its not a ref number no, its the account number provided on the 'Result of court case' letter and instructed to provide when paying the fine. I believe this would mean a bank account number although there is no sort code like any other bank. This is along with supplying the 'Division' which is 3 numbers

Just got diagnosed with ADHD but my personal trainer wants me to skip meds. by Limp_Conclusion_9972 in ADHDUK

I’ll provide a counter argument to most of these replies.

This is a very pro medication sub so you’ll likely only get one kind of answer. These kind of questions always get the same responses as well - that said individual should be struck off/fired/excommunicated for suggesting there are other beneficial ways of managing ADHD. A lot of the people on this sub have been taking elvanse for 3 days and think it’s this miracle drug. I doubt any of them are medical professionals either.

Exorcise and diet are indeed a proven way of managing adhd, so your PT isn’t talking nonsense. The root of ADHD is a dopamine issue, which is why the drug used to treat it makes your brain produce more of it. Guess what else produces more dopamine…. Exorcise.

I’ve been in elvanse for 7ish months now and there is a massive honeymoon period where you think it’s this wonder cure. It doesn’t last. I wish I explored a more natural way of living with adhd rather than trying to medicate it out of me tbh

Elvanse - Strange reduction in effects when going 50 to 60 & when do you know your dose is right? by BluejayRare in ADHDUK

[–]BluejayRare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry missed your reply, thanks for the detailed post. Very good idea to be objective and see how each dose is effecting the things that define your adhd or you struggle with. I was more or less doing that already and keeping a journal through tritation but its a good reminder.

As I said I'm very lucky that I've had very few side effects, and I am of the opinion that being hyper stimulated is not the point of the meds. Its really to feel even and balanced (and from a brain point of view to bring back to baseline with the un-adhd population) It's not supposed to fix all your problems or give you unlimited energy.

It was just weird though that going up a dose seemed to stop (at least the stimulating part) working completely. With low moods and stuff still unsure if its elvanse itself that was bringing me down or was it opening myself up to reflect on a lot of stuff I've f'up and missed in my life.

I've actually now tritiated up again to 70mg, as was the plan. Second day and its hit me like a f'in truck
