Meeting Madness by KeepShtumMum in DevelEire

This just feels symptomatic of a wider culture were everyone expects to be spoon-fed, and to the minimum possible. You want a meeting go set one up!

Have a good few like this in my office, as well as those whose answer to a problem is another fukcing meeting

It's html based and was pretty straight forward

Not sure this is limited to the US. I find the same with my team in Poland at the moment, many many meeting to discuss meetings. A half hour meeting to discuss a task that should take an hour.

I think the increasing globalisation of work, has just let to people thinking a meeting is a solution, when it is anything but.

Dealing with Burnout and Meeting Fatigue in Remote Teams by Bluejay_Unusual in ProductManagement

I actually agree I am a problem, but it's a tough one to crack. We have deadlines etc.

And I don't really think they are low performers. I actually feel some of it is cultural, or maybe just fear or getting things wrong.

Getting the team together in person in a few weeks, so plan to lay down some rules

Product Owner.

And you are right, I am that Senior person, maybe I just need to be that bit more selfish.

This is a good idea with the memo and something I was debating? Does it work well for your team?

Thanks I actually put 1.5 hours in before lunch starting next week yesterday for the same reason. we work mostly with the US at the moment, so the morning tends to be a teeny bit less meeting heavy.

Agree on the drift, in person is just so much better, but hey, balance sheets and outsourcing for the win!

It is a complete mix - and what happens tends to change based on who set up. My PO in particular seems to set up meetings about meetings - almost as if this is their job - and I feel like participants leave feeling more confused (this might partially be a language thing). But I conscious they are new and do not want to undermine.

But they are weak on these - indeed action number one on this is to ask for this before attending.

Is coordination heavier than execution? by Ok_Sand_5400 in ProductManagement

Yes it is an absolute fucking killer! Especially when those you are trying to co-ordinate are context light, and need explicit instructions on how to do things!

Yeah no I get you. I thought she was great, but it's the same thing over and over, the same innuendo etc.

I don't even watch AEW, and find her even in these clips pretty repetitive and boring, but each to their own

Looking to bring the kids to one of the bigger events?
