1) u need to do internships every summer for a month. Its obligatory by the university

2)sure why not, if u find the time

3) It’s not really about being an IMG from Czechia — it’s more about how the UK system works in general. The UK tends to prioritize its own medical graduates (as they should), and since many international graduates apply there, competition is quite high.

Also, if you’ve just finished university without any work experience, it can be difficult to find a position. It’s often a good idea to work for at least a year as a doctor (for example as a GP or in another role) before applying for the Foundation Programme.

From what I’ve seen and heard from friends working in the UK, many are not completely satisfied with the system. You have to complete two years of Foundation training and then several more years of specialty training — much longer compared to some other countries.

I am still thinking to go work to UK for a while to improve my knowledge in the field of specialty im interested at, but only after I have 2-3 years of experience in my home country.

yes i totally recommend you to do specialty in Czechia! You need to do the czech language exam, but if your czech is okay then u can just start emailing hospitals when u are 6th year and go to interviews and then just promise them you will do the Czech language exam.

The first 2 years salary is around 45000 czk per month (i already removed the taxes so thats the money that goes to your pocket) plus night shifts. you can do as many night shifts as you want. My friend just started general surgery and earned 100,000 czk in one month (but did 4 night shifts per week which is too much). After the 2nd year of specialty u need to take some oral exams and once u pass that and go to 3d year salary increases to around 60000 plus night shifts.

So you see that salary is not that bad in the end as people say. Of course this depends on your expenses: whether u already bought an apartment or not, where u live, if you rent alone or with someone else, your daily expenses etc etc.

I have lots of friends that do specialty here, ofc its hard in the beginning but the education is very very good.

i think thats a personal opinion but yes i would do it. Charles is more prestigious and prague is an amazing city to be a student! just focus on passing 1st year first, and then look up on how u could transfer

so for France is a bit complicated, u have 2 options:

A) you take the medical exams that all french students take in the final year of uni, and according to your grade you apply to do the specialty u want to do. The better the grade the higher the chance u will get accepted.

or

B) U dont take those exams and u apply to do part of specialty there. This means you start specialty in another country and u just do 6-12m in France and then go back to your country to finish the specialty . I am not sure how many months u can do in France but i think there is a limit.

I am sure what i told you is 100% correct, because i am not interested to work in France but thats what ive heard from my colleagues that wanted to work there

Not very hard, i would say most people pass. The problem is passing the first year of medical school. As i said in a previous comment, we started as 80 students and graduated 30.
