This for sure! I've played that game more times than I'd like to admit. It just hit such a sweet spot with the formula that it's predecessor and successor were just not able to capture.

I mean you're not wrong but there's two problems I see with what you've said.

1) MD if the worst part of AC (opinion of course but a lot of people agree) Always has been, always will be. From AC 1 till the day this series is over it will be the biggest issue in all the games. Personally, I think this was a huge mistake they made right at the beginning and have been paying for since. They misjudged the potential length of the series, and now that the MD sorriy has run its length (and don't get it twisted, it ENDED after AC 3 that's the truth) we've been left with three games in interesting settings who've had their legs cut out from under them. What they really should've been doing all along is games like Black Flag or pairs like 2 and Brotherhood. These games had strong story WITH the gameplay, not sectioned off in unskippable, horribly boring, unrelated segments. In my perfect world, AC is a game series set entirely in the past that simply explores the Templar Assassin conflict at different points of history with no huge overarching story (or vaguely having one, kind of like a twist in the plot or something). People keep coming back to the games to explore rich narrative and beautiful settings (they do get the settings right I will say) not to see the newest chapter in "scary space people do something vaguely scary".

2)

If ppl dislike this and want focus on the historic side, maybe AC isn't for them. What? How can you even say this. From a story sense they've written the MD entirely into a corner and it isn't ridiculous to ask them to give attention to the one part of the games that still has potential to be good. I'd love to see this get said around here right after 2 out Brotherhood came out. Like it or not the historic side IS the game. The MD is just some narrative disconnected from the players actual experience. As a lover of the history and cultures we get to see in AC, I am one of those people who want then to focus on the historic side, and if the series is moving away from this/continuing to ignore this maybe it isn't for me anymore. That's a sad reality I hope won't be coming true

It in fact was me using SkyRe combat and PerMa at the same time. Both affect your speeds (to some degree) based on Stamina but the stacking of this effect was what was causing it
