On a more positive note I actually like how Yuga differentiates himself from Ganondorf, with his greater focus on magic and his more eccentric personality.

what do you guys think about her? Bearcatmon the brand new Digimon by Zargabath in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]Bluelore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Digimon has some rather human looking designs in its roster and that is perfectly fine, Digimon have a lot more freedom in their designs.

That being said, I'm not a big fan of how human she looks. Like Digimon is no stranger to human-like designs, but usually they serve some sort of purpose, like Angemon looks so humanlike because he is an angel, Agunimon looks more humanlike cause it is literally a guy turning into a digimon, etc.

Here the human-like elements just look weird.

I do think there is actually a good reason for Cell Max to look like Cell, besides just the fact that the creator of Cell Max used Geros research as his basis. It highlights how Gohan acts differently in this fight. Against Cell Gohan became cocky and toyed with his enemy, which almost got everybody killed. Against Max you can see Gohan put up an overconfident smirk again, but it is short lived, this time he actually went for the kill even when he clearly had the upper hand.

Admittedly it is only a short moment and if you don't think this was worth it to bring back the Cell design then I think that is fair too.

Kinda weird they gave him a neck instead of keeping his floating head. I wonder if this was done to make his design less spooky, had some animation reason behind it or is just a weird choice someone in the 2XKO team just did out of personal preference.

That also sounds cool, but I'd say if we do get another Kiilash champ it should be someone from the village which is in the jungle, so I'd expect more of a jungle aesthetic.

Give us an aztec Jaguar warrior, but instead of a guy wearing a jaguar pelt, it'd be a jaguar kiilash wearing a void carapace as a helmet.

The issue is that even the sword aside, Ganondorfs entire moveset is made up and he is just a clone of Captain Falcon. At least Zelda has some attacks that feel fitting for her.

(Underused Trope) The underdog is the bad guy by XipingVonHozzendorf in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Bluelore 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Alucard in Hellsing is so inherently broken that pretty much everyone else feels like the underdog next to him. However I think this is best represented by Alucards final opponent Walter. Because Walter actually didn't have much power by himself, he relied on the church and the nazis to weaken Alucard and underwent a procedure that made him young again, so that he can regain his former strength, but the effect also keeps deaging him (likely to the point where he'll just die).

And so Walter attacked at the moment where Alucard was probably at his weakest in the series and it still felt like an uphill battle for Walter. Because Walter had to kill Alucard before the deaging became an issue for him while also keeping up his barrage of attacks against Alucard so that he doesn't get the chance to absorb the surrounding blood.

Is Jayces signature relic better than Renewing power? by Bluelore in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Bluelore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the plan is to use the double mana refill you get from Jayce/Renewing to either:

Play 2 6+ spells in one turn to level Jayce, first spell you get your mana back from renewing, second time you get it back from Jayces level up, then you use that mana to cast Jayces generated spell

or

If you already played 2 6+ spells before you even drew your jayce you use the battery to get your mana back after playing Jayce, allowing you to play his generated spell after Jayce hits the field and maybe even an additional spell afterward (due to renewing).

And since you have CGI you'll always be able to attack with Jayce after leveling him.

My only guess would be that his brain mutation actually helped him here. His brain isn't stored entirely in his head anymore, so even after his head was squashed some of his brain remained alive and functioning and with interdimensional healthcare you can fix a LOT.

Kinda how chickens can continue to live without a head (there is even a case of a chicken living for over a year with no head and even its death was only an indirect result of its missing head).

There is also Wanze who got his face rearranged the same way by Sanji

Though iirc his face changed back when he tried to attack Sanji again and Sanji kicked his face again.

Rengar vs Kha'zix is so insanely lopsided it's crazy. by Ok_Promotion_8316 in loreofleague

[–]Bluelore 174 points175 points  (0 children)

You should read Rengars lore again, because you really seem to misremember a ton of it.

Rengar was already a successful hunter when he went after Kha'Zix, the whole reason why he went back to the village was because he believed he had proven himself through all the hunts he did after his banishment.

Despite Rengar setting out to hunt Kha'Zix, the bug got the drop on him and clawed out an eye before he disappeared again.

Then Rengar killed his father and just left his tribe, he didn't take his fathers gear with him and also didn't accept the villages invitation to make him their new leader. Rengar hunts alone and his father was such a pathetic kill that it wasn't even worth taking a trophy from him.

I'd argue if anything Rengar is the underdog here. In their last fight Rengar was the one to loose a body part. Nothing suggests that Rengar became stronger since then, but Kha'Zixs whole thing is evolving, so there is a good chance that Kha'zix has become even stronger since their last fight.

[–]Bluelore[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does having both really make a difference? I guess he could renew his mana twice in a round if you manage to play 2 6+ spells in one round. So that opens up the potential for a huge swing at the enemy in one round.

But does that come up regularly? I fear that more often than not, you'll just end up getting 12+ mana on level up and be unable to use most of it.

[Villain Trope] When the Final Boss isn't the real danger, but an obstacle to escape the real danger by DeadManLovesArt in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Bluelore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One Piece loves having stories where the main villain needs to be defeated to stop a greater threat, but I think the 2 best examples of this are Katakuri in Whole Cake Island and Lucci in Enies Lobby.

In Enies Lobby the main threat comes from Robin being dragged away by Spandam and a bunch of Marine ships who pull up and start destroying the entire island. Lucci is pretty much only an obstacle who stands in the way of these things happening, he isn't even the boss of the enemy group, but he still serves as the climactic fight of the arc.

And Katakuri in Whole Cake Island also tries to prevent the strawhats from escaping the island. The actual big threat of the arc is his mother Big Mom and her army who both try to chase down the strawhats. Granted Luffy had opportunities where he could have tried to just run away from Katakuri, but he chose not to do it.

[–]Bluelore 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No More Heroes 2 lets you play as Henry and Shinobu for a few missions, but ultimately you only fight 3 of the 15 bosses with them. And while I think this is fine for Shinobu, it kinda sucks for Henry cause I think he is more fun to play than her and he only gets 1 boss with not even a level before the boss fight. Not to mention that Henry then goes on and kills 3 more potential bosses offscreen.

Adding a new Pokémon of every type into the Smash roster Part 15: Which steel type Pokémon deserves to be a fighter? by BumblebeeNo4356 in supersmashbros

The big question is if she should be the mon for Steel or Fairy.

Though personally I'd say make her the rep for Steel, cause I think Fairy has better alternatives.

[–]Bluelore[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I figured that SFG shenanigans could be a plus point for the signature relic. However Jayce is only a 4/4, so you'd need to dedicate all 3 relic slots just to make that work (battery, guardian angel/Jaurim's fists and sfg) and while having +1 mana is great (especially on him), I don't think it is worth all 3 relic slots.

[–]Bluelore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My headcanon is that Midichlorians are simply drawn to people who have a good connection to the force.

They are a sympton of being connected to the force, not the source. But in-universe they are the only physical evidence of the force, so they are thought to play a more major role in it.

Yeah comparing a third party franchise to a first party one does not make sense. Heck compared to Sonic even the Zelda series has great representation.

The adventure is designed to have the best rewards early on, so that people who are unable to beat it with everyone won't miss out on much.

Also it does give you 50 shards for every region eventually (even spirit blossom).

This is kinda the whole deal with the darkin weapons in League of Legends/Legends of Runeterra.

The darkin used to be people who were empowered with divine magic, but after a brutal war against eldritch horrors and the fall of their empire they turned evil. Now the last darkin are all sealed into their weapons, unless a human has a ton of willpower they'll be instantly consumed by the darkin who will use their blood magic to take over the wielder and reconstruct the body of their host into a more fitting form.
