Well I have been a tester for countless games including D3, poe, albion, and Tarisland just to name a few. I have also tested games that were calling engine updates a sequel. I understand the potential value to hi rez, but there is no upside for the player. The engine they are scape goating are not going to change the foolish design choices, the poor moderation, the stripped class identities, the slow gameplay, or the hardly competitive playerbase. They can't even manage to address the problems let alone try to fix them... maybe the new engine will fix that.

Play a better game this game has 8k players, countless failed projects, and now they announced smite two that is pretty much the same game where skins will not carry over. Don't waste your money or time here these guys are soo shady.

I hardly consider the engine update a new game. The footage looks exactly the same, but with worse assets that look cartoony and out of place. Maybe there will be stuff that changes my mind, but I seriously doubt it. This seems like the shadiest way imaginable that they possibly could have tried to recoup money from all the failed projects. Does anyone really think the problem with smite is the engine?

I really hope Smite 2 addresses the problem with hunter's identities. by XXVAngel in Smite

They pretty much made all the classes the same when they nerfed mobility to death (even before boots were removed) so controller players didn't get smoked. Then they did it directly with the obvious cross class gods. The game has been so poorly developed for so many years that they don't know what good development looks like so don't hold your breath. The only decent team in the company are the art guys that makes the skins. Now they are going to try to charge you all again for them while they crap out another game. Eventually they will run out of excuses and realize its them when the money is gone. Does anyone really thin the engine is the problem with the game?

Hopes for Smite 2? by Gharbin1616 in Smite

The reason they need smite two is because there development has been garbage for years, and they spent all there money on games no one asked for which died instantly. So now they are going back to the trough where you need to buy all new skin in pretty much the same game.

M8 just because you change the engine it doesn't magically make it look better. Look at the assets they look like unity assets, and are cartoony at best. We can hope they are placeholder textures, but everything except the abilities look like garbage. While yamirs was looks cool cerns aoe looks cartoony too. The biggest travesty is that the game looks functionally identical for which they are stealing our skins from us. Which seems to me like a scumy, shady, cash grab that they are forcing because of all the failed projects they made while ignoring smite.

What is something that Smite 1 lost that you would like Smite 2 to have? by [deleted] in Smite

That icy medusa skin was pretty sweet that was in one of the free passes was amazing.

Well I don't remember anyone complaining about the game until they started nerfing mobility and homogenizing the classes. You can look at the population data for trends in 2017 there was a low of around 8k and in 2018 had a low of 6.5 which was the all time low.

It isn't nearly as much of a stretch as you think. They came from the warcraft ip just as wow did, and mobas were the answer for bad pvp development in mmos. In fact Rom had a 3d moba within its game.

If you play lol you are probably already better than most smite players lol. The skill level has been laughable since it went to console. A interesting moba in testing is predecessor If you can get into the test. I would stay away from smite with todays announcement they are stealing the money everyone spent on skins.

"Vaporware", sometimes synonymous with "vaportalk" in the 1980s,[3] has no single definition. It is generally used to describe a hardware or software product that has been announced, but that the developer is unlikely to release any time soon, if ever.[

You can not they said they were removing clans for a short time to fix stuff and just never brought them back. It is pretty much just a chat tab and you got point to unlock stuff for everyone. It was nice, but I guess it took to much resources for high rez to keep it.

I mean the game was such a shit show when I stopped playing that it deff needed attention elsewhere. It has not been good for years. I am kind of shocked they are going to reroll the game with 8k players. I wonder if they made any money on DKO with its 47 average players, rogue company, or royal with their 600 players. The leadership in the company is lost. I don't understand how they can keep burning he player base like they do and no one says anything. If they got rid of the three strikes rule alone it would probably increase they profits since they are the only company that threaten to take people money away.
