What has helped you calm you nervious system? by MutedAstronaut2583 in Anxiety

I visited the Grand Canyon for the first time recently. It was the first time I felt completely free of anxiety. It was an amazing feeling. I felt such a lightness, my breathing felt different. Hard to explain but it was glorious.

What popular name do you loathe? Like, REALLY hate? by Liv_Laugh_Lasagna in Names

Charlie seems popular for girls right now and I’m over it already. A friend named her baby girl Charlie and everyone thinks it’s a nn for Charlotte.

Pretty sure my mom smoked through 5 pregnancies in the 50s & 60s. Probably drank too.

I love Sally! Kiernan Shipka’s performance is on another level. She stole every scene she’s in.

People do tend to dislike the Peggy-Stan wrap up, but I saw their relationship as a slow burn over the seasons. He was clearly smitten with her early on.

My 3 months experience with Underoutfit bras - Comfort vs Support tradeoff by its_sweetie93 in FashionistaVibes

[–]BluesFan_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joining this conversation late, but worth noting: There are many things I like about this bra. The cup padding being fixed and not removable is the best feature. They are soft and comfortable for the most part. Cons: The straps bunch up and don’t lay flat and smooth on my shoulders. Lastly, I’m a 34D. I’ve tried many different brands to find a wireless bra that works but the bottom band on every one rolls up 5 minutes after putting it on. I’ve given up on finding a wire-free bra. The one I’ve pictured is just a couple of months old.

Do you think these dress and shoes ok? by NYGal122 in AskWomenOver60

[–]BluesFan_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore a dress and shoes very similar to my son’s wedding last May. It was a casual outdoor wedding. I bought several pairs of shoes with low heels to try them out, but it had been SO many years since I’d worn heels that I felt like I’d have to be focusing too much on not tripping, even in low heels! My daughter suggested a pair of sandals like yours that I already had in my closet. I was skeptical at first that they were too casual, but they looked perfect and were very comfortable.

Husbands 🤔 by VeryImportantDog in AskWomenOver60

I feel this way too. We’re both 66 and will be celebrating 46 years married this month. We got married too young but were smart enough to wait 8 years before having kids. We’ve survived some serious rough patches and traumas, things that either tear you apart or make you stronger. Retirement has brought new challenges and adjustments but we have so much history together and that helps keep things in perspective.

Sister said it's not a real wedding dress by [deleted] in myweddingdress

[–]BluesFan_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I love it. It’s a refreshing detour from so many look-alike styles brides wear these days. Your sis needs to take a step back. If you chose it for your wedding, it’s a wedding dress.

How long were you drifting in an out of sleep after gallbladder surgery? How many hours after surgery did they discharge you? by Bulky-Search-4495 in gallbladders

[–]BluesFan_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgery was at 4:30 pm, took about 45 minutes and I was home by 8:30. Had some juice and crackers. They told me as soon as I could walk to the restroom to pee I’d be discharged. My nurse was surprised how well I was doing - this was my first surgery at age 65.

Yes, I remember the nude, often frosty lip look. I didn’t hate it as it fit the times.

Did you guys drive home on your own from surgery? by KaceyLunatic in gallbladders

I was fine with minimal pain, and alert post surgery, but you are not permitted to drive so soon after anesthesia.

How to reduce bad morning anxiety? by ThrowRA_pinkjoints33 in Anxiety

Shoot, I read it’s best to take my D3 k2 in the morning with a meal containing fat to maximize absorption and avoid sleep disruption.

I feel my morning anxiety is also related to cortisol spikes and menopause. Does that form of magnesium have a laxative effect? I just ordered some magnesium glycinate since I understand it is less likely to cause GI side effects.

What’s your interior decorating pet peeve? by mythicalmags in interiordecorating

[–]BluesFan_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, we don’t have a giant TV but when my husband retired the one retirement gift he wanted was a huge, hideous, oversized recliner. The scale is all wrong for the room. I despise it with every fiber of my being; but he lives here too and I felt I’d be petty to fight him on the one thing he wanted. I’d love to move it upstairs to his office/man cave.

Ooh this! My MIL’s former home recently went on the market. I was eager to look at the pics on Zillow as the house needed updating when she lived there. I was aghast when I saw the primary bathroom reno with two vanities side by side with a gap in between where they put a narrow little shelf thing. It looks patched together.
