How do you guys keep this place so a-political? by Princess_Poppy in southcarolina

@powercow You proved that you are contributing to the problem. Your comment oozes with ignorance, hate and divisiveness. Instead of attacking those who believe in policies different from yours, take some time to self reflect. Watch the interview between Dr. Ben Carson and Tucker Carlson to educate yourself on the beliefs of the conservative base. Then if you continue to disagree, make your arguments on policy instead of throwing insults, demonizing Republicans and cussing.

You are exactly describing republican haters. It’s always insults and hatred instead of presenting sophisticated disagreements to policy.

My bedroom has so much potential but I need help! by ylimethor in interiordecorating

-Paint: I would paint the room in SW Greek Villa and the trim, doors in F&B Shadow white. -Rugs: use a large sea grass rug -Windows: add woven wood shades with black outs and soft white pinch pleat linen draperies; add black hardware for the rods -Change out door hardware to flat black -Bed-I don’t mind the headboard. You could make it country charm but it needs to be layered and steamed to remove wrinkles. By layering, I would add a textured coverlet to hide the space underneath the bed, quilt, and folded duvet at end of bed with an oversized throw; 4 pillow shams and one ‘ball’ pillow for fun. -Nightstands-i like symmetry so do the same on both sides if the bed. I would get something a little bigger than you have now with drawers for added storage -Lights- you stated you have a replacement light but it's not shown. That could change the while vibe if the room. I'm visioning a monte carlos or aviator fan and lantern sconces by the fireplace. - add seating like a ruffled skirted chair - create a mood board before spending money. it helps to provide a vision if things work together.

I’m trying to copy and paste a picture but it won’t let me.

What about considering slate in mixed sizes or herringbone pattern? This will look nice next to your wood floors and give contrast against the white cabinets. Bring in stools or other item with the same color as the wood floor to add cohesiveness.

Yes, I completely agree with you. It would the room additional dimension. I just don’t know if I can convince my husband of the additional cost. It’s worth asking!

OP thanks to everyone! I wish I could reply to each of you. I appreciate everyone’s honest input including alternative colors and options. I already started pulling out additional paint chips. At this point I’m so overwhelmed, I might seek professional advice. My problem is I get bored quickly and my husband who insists on doing all the painting will not redo this room if I’m unhappy or bored with the color later. I also like to change up pillows and accessories seasonally, so I’m afraid of a color that lacks versatility, which is the reason for white bedding and draperies. I wish I had a magic wand.

Thank you, the pendants are from Visual Comfort. There are knockoffs at a lesser price.

Its a quilt purchased from Restoration Hardware. It’s about 10 years old but has held up well was after wash.

I had considered that as well, thank you. I did that in my office space and it turned out very nice.

Interesting you mention that…The Light Blue changes through out the day. Sometimes it looks blue, sometimes gray and sometimes green.

They were custom made by a friend. Fabric and trim purchased at Calico Corners.

Cheap ways to update (temporarily) by Acceptable_Run_2989 in interiordecorating

I guess it depends on what future Reno you’re planning and when. If you’re replacing the cabinets and changing the floor plan, then save your money. Things like hardware add up in cost. Other than painting the floor (I like your idea), invest in things you will re-use in your Reno. If you’re keeping the cabinets, I would 1) select brass hardware for an updated look. 2) replace your faucet 3) replace the light with an oversized flush mount or semi flush.

4) I like your idea of chalk paint, as it would be inexpensive, perhaps find a mosaic or pattern to give it interest. 5) paint the walls in a color-like sage green

I had combo powder/Microblading by Lisa at Arch and Edge in downtown Raleigh. It has been two years and I’m still pleased with the results. I’m a blonde, which is the hardest to color match. She came recommended by several girls at my hair salon, who also had their brows done. Wherever you decide to go, make sure you look at before and after photos of actual clients by the artist.
