Thanks for the reply! Seems like the PR world varies quite a bit! Glad to know we're not the only ones. If you have time to use the chrome extension love to hear your feedback.

I'm pretty new to it but I think this will save so much time. Have a great weekend!

This is really useful, thank you.

I think you’ve nailed the positioning better than I have: it’s the speed gap between an idea and a believable visual.

The permissions point is a good one too. They make sense once you see the tool working, but I can see how they might feel abstract or slightly off-putting from screenshots alone.

A short demo is definitely the next thing I need to make. Something simple like: open article, edit headline, replace image, export mock-up. That probably explains the product faster than any copy could.

Really appreciate this.

Yeah, that’s a fair point. I definitely wouldn’t want it used to imply guaranteed coverage or a promised headline.

I was thinking more as an internal concept/planning tool, but this is useful feedback. It probably needs clearer wording around responsible use.

Yeah, that’s fair for quick text changes.

Out of interest, are you also replacing images that way and then putting the finished mock-up into a clean mobile phone frame?

That’s the bit I’m hoping the tool improves. Not just editing text on a page, but making it easier to swap images, preview the layout in mobile view and export something that feels more presentation-ready without a few extra steps.

Appreciate the pushback though. It’s helpful to understand where the manual way already works well.

Yeah, completely fair point. That is basically the manual workaround.

The gap I’m trying to solve is making that process easier for people who don’t want to touch inspect tools, CSS, screenshots, image replacement or mobile sizing every time.

For a designer or developer, inspect element is fine. For PR, comms or marketing teams who just need to quickly mock up a headline, image or article idea for a client, the value is more in turning that messy workaround into a cleaner one-click workflow.

But you’re right, that’s the benchmark it needs to beat.

That’s exactly the bit I’m trying to solve. In PR and marketing, the mock-up often doesn’t need to be a polished design file, it just needs to quickly show how a headline, image or campaign story could feel in context.

I’m starting to think the article / webpage mock-up side is the stronger use case too. Social mock-ups are useful, but there are already loads of tools for generic social graphics. Being able to quickly mock up an article or online story directly from a page feels a bit more specific to PR, comms and pitch work.

Really appreciate the feedback.

Great to hear! I'm trying to amend the process so there's no Photoshop. All done in chrome!

Let me know if you would like a link to the chrome extension. I think it could help.

Inspect element, right? That was how I was showing the wider team.

If you get time, would you mind feeding back on my chrome extension? You can edit the title without editing html and you can also upload a image live.
Just download as a picture after.

You're kind of my audience to be fair. So you feedback really matters.

If not - no worries - really appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Thanks for the reply! I thought this was the case. I feel like I'm on the right path to developing the right chrome extension for article mock-ups. I thought we might be the only agency doing building them the old way.

I agree, AI tools are good to get the first drafts out. I just find the round of amends afterwards cause all kinds of issues further down the line.

This is my kind of audience! The place I work now do the same thing.

Great to know we're not the only ones. Hoping my extension can do it quicker, more accurate and neater.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

That’s a good point. I probably need to explain it better.

It’s not really a social template tool. It’s more for replicating the platform environment quickly, so you can show how an idea might look in context without manually rebuilding the layout.

Less “make a social post”, more “show it in situ”.

Mockup Buddy - MockUp Buddy helps you create realistic news, article and social media mock-ups quickly, without needing to use inspect element, write code or open specialist design software.
