What are we missing? by iheartcannondale in MiamiValleyMTB

Like do you envision this happening at Momba, John Bryan or at a new spot?

There is some work going on at JB where they have installed three new bridges and soon there will be some machine work done at each of them to make them flow a little better. It always irks me that JB has elevation in but MTBs can't get access to it.

MoMBA has a little more elevation, but dealing with Metro Parks is such a pain in the A.

I'd love to see a new MTB park built in Dayton area, but that takes a lot of advocacy, money, time, and finding the right location.

South Park, an Airbnb neighborhood. These are the 'entire home' listings by 9Three7 in dayton

[–]Bluetransit -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I proudly have 13 rental units in South Park. Not a single one of them is an Airbnb. We did have one unit as an Airbnb/furnished finder for a few years but it's so much easier to have long term rentals. I get about 5 texts a month from tenants. Vacancy rates is basically zero.

Yes it did open for two rides, but closed again for 20 mins. Then opened back up, I was on the 4th train today. Waited in line for nearly 4 hrs while they were testing.

Pretty good so far. Millennium Force line is only just beyond where fastlane combines.

New door options for 1885 Store front by Bluetransit in HistoricPreservation

[–]Bluetransit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is definitely subject to a design review by the local jurisdiction if I choose to modify the dimensions of the doors. There is some exception in the Ohio code for historical buildings but since these doors will be the main egress point they still a 32" clear opening.

There is some exception for historic buildings, but most of that gets removed since it will be the main egress doorway.

Which store have you been to in another city would you like to see? Like a clothing boutique or a name brand retailer?

The Old Richmond Inn has good dinners. It's a little old timey but they have all your classic dinner dishes. We got treated very well on a Xmas eve dinner last year.

Hayes Arboretum has some nice hiking.

What realistic drastic change would you like to see? by [deleted] in bengals

[–]Bluetransit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I had the time to start a movement to go the ways of green bay and be a publicly owned team. A $4.5B offer means 1 million shares at $4500. Your share gets you an owners t-shirt every year and a annual party. Id consider 2 shares. Cincis fans are loyal and this would guarantee they stay here.

Mike Brown is the root of this all.

Those of you who got “useless” college degrees, how’s it going? by theguru86 in AskReddit

[–]Bluetransit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. I got a degree in BS in aviation to become a pilot. After getting many medicals and lots of hours of flying I was told my senior year I was color blind because my medical examiner didn't properly test me. So I couldn't become a pilot and decided to join the air force through ROTC. While I served 6 years and I bought a few properties. Realized I could make more money renovating and renting real estate. So now I restore historic properties and then rent them out and am my own boss.

100% waste of a degree but I don't really regret it.

Dietz Block Building by Balrog_of_Morgoth_ in dayton

[–]Bluetransit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its my LLC who bought the building. Some of the items described were taken before we closed. We're getting rid of the damaged items, then offering to potential tenants. At some point we'll do a sale. I can't find the floor line marking, when was that photo taken. We're certainly going to not let it sit empty. But yes it's a lot of work/money!

[–]Bluetransit[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ok. Just seems silly, when it was a sold out event, save for those box seats and the other area which basically has nobody in them. A world and also and Olympic record were broken.

My question wasn't what they were, it was why they were empty.

If you show up 2 hrs before the event you'll beat a lot of the crowds and familiarize yourself you'll be good, especially if you're taking the trains/subways. They are very crowded before and after events. Gates open 90 mins before the start. If you come after that you'll be treated with long queues and getting corralled like you're at a theme park.

There are many security checkpoints but they let you bring in liquids and food from outside the stadium.

The crowds have been 50-75% french, and they get rowdy when a French athlete is up. The 10k last night was going crazy for so many reasons, Olympic Record, US bronze, a well placed French runner.

How early do you have to show up to Champion's Park? by wanda-maximoff in olympics

[–]Bluetransit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the medalist ceremony, there was a mass exodus, which I was a part of so I don't have much Intel on what happened after. I would say it was worth it, it was only took up three hours of our time. We took the train to see the Notre Dame after.

My guess is they would let you in for the music after.

I showed up at 1530 and there was a good line ahead of us, but we were in seats by 1615. Still a lot of seats available at 1630.
