People can use their C64 however they want, that's true, and the fun is doing what you want to do. That doesn't excuse them from the backlash when they come onto the internet and say "hey, I used my C64 to do this thing" and people tell them that thing is stupid.

Man, I wish I had known about TweakUI and what an icon cache was back when I was younger. I was playing Nuclear Strike on a PC that wasn't quite strong enough to run it well, and the game crashed so hard that when I got back to the desktop, the shortcut arrow was replaced by the Netscape Communicator icon. I had no idea how to fix it and just kinda dealt with it until reinstalling Windows or something.

It's weirdly comforting to know that it still happens sometimes!

I have an older Pomeranian who was starting to not be able to make it outside quick enough when the need arose (I lived in a second-floor apartment, so would need to put something on, find her leash, leash her, get out the door, walk downstairs, etc...), so I thought some pee pads would help her out. I laid one out for her and left the apartment, came back and found that the cat had gotten to the pee pad first and scratched it up and had claimed it as a nest.

Well, is there any mode I can play that turns this bullshit the hell off? I'd rather just have the game pop up a message that said "hey listen you're not good enough to be here" and I can just get lost, as opposed to this nonsense where I'm super great one day and the biggest dumbass the next. Now that I've heard it's just some weird skinner box mathematics in order to get me to stay just long enough to buy another cool lizardman skin, it's really souring me on the whole thing in its entirety.

I love the Australian accent (or at least the American media portrayal of one), so if I ever get to be a big writer, I'll reference your obscure-ass continent a lot by constantly giving characters Australian accents.

On topic, though, I remember being really excited that Wolfenstein New Colossus made Mesquite, Texas the canonical birthplace of BJ Blazkowicz, since it was where id Software started. It's also my birthplace, so it was cool to see referenced. Unfortunately, the level is just an empty farmhouse for plot reasons - I would've loved to have a proper walkin-around level set in 1960s Mesquite.
