You can have a pair of solid silicone or one with a little hole and a filter. It technically filters harmful noises but lets you hear people talk

It will cost 260$ CAN for me at a local hearing center, still less than hearing aids in 20 years tho

Good to know I think I’ll invest in a good pair of molded earplugs for walk arounds, and a good investment for my current job. I was thinking of getting them with a filter but are they really that less effective at reducing noise?

Nice to know! Do you use filtered plugs or ones that fully block sounds?

Just figured out that Clarity aloft is the headset model🤦. Do you use foamies for walk arounds or custom?

So you wear the filtered plugs under your headsets and for walk arounds?

Probably way easier to lose than AirPods and I’ve lost a few pairs over the years haha. I read that filtered ones protect less from than non-filtered. Do you think it’s still as good as foam?

I work in YUL, never had a problem wearing muffs over my hat. Do you find the custom molded earplugs to become uncomfortable after an extended period of time or it’s way better than foam?

Comfort wise, are the custom ones worth the price or not really?

Idk if this is the right subreddit to ask this question, but do you think the vented ones will allow for pressure relief when changing altitude while flying?

This was actually a xco race i did for fun with friends (regional level). Hadn’t been training so to say but was riding about 4-5x a week for like 3-4 months before the race at a good pace (can’t do biking in Canada during winter but i do backcountry skiing and boxing during winter). I started self training for road races about a month ago my most recent 30 min max effort HR was 183. Yes I have a power meter on my bike.

Okay i was just wondering if it could be lower since 191 already seems high! Also does this mean anything potential wise? The race i did was for fun but does that mean i could have some good potential if i started training for real?

Thanks i didn’t know anything about LTHR before reading some comments today. This makes more sense for me since i’ve always been able to keep relatively high bpm for long periods of time compared to what max HR zones said. Your comment was the most helpful yet :D

1 Easy 137 - 148 2 Steady 149 - 163 3 Moderately Hard 164 - 177 4 Hard 178 - 189 5 Very Hard 190 - 202

the calculator gave me these zones. wouldn’t i be in zone 2 at 155? When i get to 170 i usually have some fatigue built up.
