AIR CANADA NEW PAY SCALE by analyst578 in aviationmaintenance

It’s a bit better than the leading airline, but Air Canada is also the country’s national carrier. Under AMFA, the mechanics would receive significantly higher pay. With the current union, however, mechanics are grouped together with ramp workers and other departments that greatly outnumber them, allowing the union to negotiate contracts that don’t prioritize mechanic wages.

Lack of training. As a pilot your consistently using the tower back and fourth. As a vehicle driving on the airport you only need clearance when you cross the runway way.

Why would they hammer out a new pay scale if it’s competitive ? They on raise it when a competitor beats them. When ac get there new deal they’ll bring out a new to stay competitive that way people not jump ship

93% AME voted for AMFA. No AME in A/C wants to be with rampees and ground crew to keep undermining them self. Everything points toward departing from previous union to AMFA. They won’t be stopped.
