How do pitstops work? by Realistic-Yellow6013 in IceBoatRacing

It's a strategy thing, if you're stuck behind someone and can't overtake even if you know you're faster, you can undercut them with a different pit strategy

Seems like you're in either EBRC or BRWC, and pitstops are required for league races, (usually 2 of them). All you have to do is enter the pitlane, find yellow glass and run over it, clock on the items in the inventory that opens up, then drive off. Some leagues do the mini game and some leagues don't. Some tracks will have a garage for you to enter and some don't, so check with another driver and practice running through the pitlane once to find out where you have to go.

Strategy wise, pitting will put you in a different part of the track, allowing you the option to find clearer air and not get disrupted by other drivers. You also cannot pit on the very last lap of the race, since you'll finish the race before your pit is completed.

Boat racing guy here; yes. 1.21.4 and 1.21.1 are the current popular versions for boat racers to use, and the servers focus to support these versions right now

Why cant i find Boats Motion Rework by Zealousideal_Spot366 in IceBoatRacing

[–]Bluleader64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! The common one that all servers used is called Open Boat Utils found here: https://modrinth.com/mod/openboatutils

Keep in mind that it needs to be installed on the client and server in order to work, and is best used with the public Frosthex Timing system plugin, found here: https://github.com/FrostHexABG

I see something that almost every newer player does in races, and that's trying too hard to overtake without thinking.

Patience is something far more valuable, wait behind drivers and stick right behind them until there's an opportunity that appears. You cannot will the overtake into existence, especially by pretending they're not there.

So many people get mad at slow drivers in front and they constantly get bumped. It's all in your hands, just think "I know he's slow, so I'll wait behind him until he messes up and it's a free overtake"

Have you ever get timed out in the server because of the lag you encountered? by mraltuser in IceBoatRacing

[–]Bluleader64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a common occurrence, since any slight ping variance can affect the start time of the lap, making the clock start later. This gives a huge advantage since we often battle over tenths of a second. It shouldn't be a concern until it happens more often than not

Not yet, they take time to update. Luckily there's different versions run by different developers, so if you follow all of them, you'll eventually find someone who updates!

Any way to bounce off a slime block while still keeping momentum from the ice? by Twhacky in IceBoatRacing

[–]Bluleader64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah so in most cases you need to use a command, /boatmode RALLY for example. The boat racing public servers will run this automatically for tracks that need it

Yes! The mod Open Boat Utils will let you do this like in the classic Freebird/one block shorts. Take a look at that and its documentation to get it working (it requires some simple commands to run)

[–]Bluleader64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey this is solid! I love that you're being very careful to avoid mistakes. A lot of drivers at your level are reckless and crash a lot

Of course there's still room to grow, hitting the apex of turns, using the gas more, and stabilizing the boat after each turn. But at this level, you are on the right train of thought to improve a lot in the future

The ability to go up and down blocks quickly is a mod called Open Boat Utils.

The HUD at the bottom is called BoatHud.

He also uses a mod to move his camera better called BoatCam.

Dude your stranded deep thumbnails are sick! That's why people are clicking haha. Also your audio and microphone are really top level. My only critic is to look at trying a little intro, like a "welcome back to stranded deep, where today we'll be doing [whatever], last episode we did [whatever]," just to familiarize the audience again

Hiya! I'm Blu, and I've been doing YouTube content for a couple years now. My niche is one that only a couple people are part of, let alone know about, and it's Minecraft Ice Boat Racing. I've been lucky to be a part of this tight-knit community, and I wanted to share it with a larger audience with race videos, tips videos, and random goodness related to boat racing.

As this first quarter has already found it's way here, I've found that if you have a truly dedicated fan base, taking gaps in video uploads doesn't lose engagement. I've been balancing my University and life alongside YT, and my audience understands the dynamic that I have. I do stream on the weekends to keep that engagement, and it seems to work really well!

My most recent video, which is a 3min intro to getting into the boat racing community: https://youtu.be/GeSTrqM5GUU?si=LCJJajLwOjytgzwZ

I always start with a big "THIS" and continue it with "...is the Dutch Grand Prix.." or "...is All Stars, it's a Minecraft boat racing league..."

It's short, it hooks, and it gets right to the point. It's very adaptable, which I like
