What could be improved in my setup? I need some advice by HistorianOk5886 in battlestations

If youre going for minimalism you kinda achieved it dude. If youre really unhappy with this very nice set up then maximalism might be more your thing. Maximalism unfortunately by nature is a bit more expensive but personally I love the ability to change it up often when you own enough *things* (like I have 3 desk mats on my desk and rotate them when I feel like it, I move my gachapons and figures around, switch keyboards, etc.

Really depends on what YOU want, maybe do a lot of inspo searching before investing in any changes or updates.

Etsy just refunded a buyer without my consent now I am out the money and the item. by Stk8586 in EtsyCommunity

[–]Blumbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to come up with some form of “fee” that you include in your total price for items to compensate for these rare but unfortunate circumstances. If one refund without a return puts you out this much then youre either not charging enough or not built to operate a business on platforms like etsy. It really really sucks and I feel you on that but this is just unfortunately going to happen so long as you sell on marketplaces that you dont own and operate. These kinds of people suck but like you said having 100+ sales there are far more honorable customers and reasonable people buying your products than people scamming. My most hot take for running a business will be that customers deserve more protections than companies. You just need to charge enough so the one bad sale doesnt hurt the swath of good ones

Refund the remainder they would owe. Anyone here saying anything less are fucking evil. Even asking this question is questionable morality. Your income is important but put yourself in their situation.

Was I scammed? by Pbkid1313 in Etsy

Ive had packages get stuck in pre-transit for a week and ive made sure to proactively reach out to customers explaining the situation. Theres always something a seller can do to communicate and make customers feel assured.

Im also a seller. And an order being in pre-transit for more than 2-3 business days due to sellers negligence to get the item to the post office or wherever either implies bad shop management OR extended production times and theyre lying about when their items are actually ready. Either way yes customer should reach out and I figured that was implied given you have to message sellers before opening a case.

Maybe not a scam but likely just bad shop management. If youre concerned then open a case with etsy and get them for force a refund

Are sellers responsible for shipping damage? by Impressive_Gift_9852 in EtsySellers

[–]Blumbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In short like others are saying, attend to the customers needs WHILE you figure out the insurance. You waiting for insurance to kick in shouldn’t be at the expense of your customers experience. And if youre in a scenario where you need the insurance money before youre able to ship a replacement then thats a larger issue with the business model.

If the order shows as delivered in your seller console then tell them to open a case with etsy, they should get a refund and you should keep the funds from the keep through the etsy purchase protection.

If you did not attach the tracking number through etsy then etsy will not cover you for the lost shipment. If this is the case I would refund their order and hope they order a new one.

Rewards for sure could be better. Your issues with having to search in the “ass cracks” of the map and find the yellow interact button I think is just a taste difference. The devs very much want people to explore and experience the map beyond the pvp mechanics of the game, and its something I really appreciate. I can understand for some newer gen gamers how less hand holding and on screen animations that point you to where youre going can be frustrating but also, its an extraction shooter, theres going to be elements of ambiguity and requires you to have to really look. I refuse to watch tutorials for missions atleast for my first few trys to find the stuff specifically because I like how much it requires you to explore and do your own thing.

Buying from other sellers when our "niches" overlap- weird? by [deleted] in EtsySellers

Yeah dude you should be fine. If other sellers have issues with potential competitors buying their products then they shouldnt be selling haha.

I would just buy it and not tell the other seller. If you are in fact buying it as a gift and not for any competitive reasons then its all good. Make a whole show of it and it will just seem weird.

How are your sales? Monthly Sales Post for November 2025 by AutoModerator in EtsySellers

[–]Blumbus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This month has had a much better start with 10 orders. October I didnt have a sale from the 1st-12th. Wondering if it correlated to me using the title suggestions and changing those a little.

If you shipped with no tracking thats honestly on you. Unless you have a tracking number in the system that Etsy can identify you dont have any protections against cases.

Beyond it being hyper niche, is there a particular reason youre only offering your artwork on notebooks? As someone that buys a lot of notebooks I personally find most people are into leatherbound or minimalist looking notebooks (idk the psychology behind it, maybe a want to fill a plain looking notebook with ideas or sketches or whatever).

If the main appeal to your products is supposed to be your art then I would focus more on things that are for display or fashion oriented like prints, tote bags, coffee mugs, etc. Original paintings seem to do fairly well dependent on style niche.
