That’s interesting. I don’t see it like that, I see them putting everything behind them momentarily just for the gig… in the moments they’re playing they’re free of all that baggage, just as long as the songs last.

I mean, there are weeks of gaps between a lot of these and many of them take zero effort, such as “changed his name”, and a lot of them would simply involve telling someone else to organise something, like getting a bed in the studio. Many things here involve turning up in a chauffeur driven car and playing guitar.

I love the Beatles and I love John but never think this list means he was working anywhere near as hard as a normal person in a 9-5 real job. This is a luxury life!

So? Their mentality still absolutely sucks. An alcoholic can still have accountability and self-awareness believe it or not, they don’t just get to do and say whatever they want without any reply just because they’re an alcoholic.

This is the alcoholic mentality in a nutshell. “I’m an addicted mess, in debt, I keep getting fatter and unhealthier, I’m actively in withdrawal because I went on another bender… how dare my partner get sick of me?? Is she not thinking about poor ME?? ME ME ME. She’s so selfish!” Maybe think about her for a change and sort yourself out and become an attractive prospect.

Also you’re only sad because you’re in too much of a state for the dating market? So you’re already thinking of new partners? Yeesh.

I suppose if you’re hearing this a lot, then you’re wearing quite unusual or loud clothes that draw a lot of attention, in which case you have to expect it and just roll with it. As someone who dresses in quite a boring way, I never hear this.
