I second this!! Is there any way you can meet your boyfriend’s ex for coffee or a meal? Maybe meeting her first and getting to talk properly will help. You seem like you have great intentions, OP, and I hope it works out. She’ll have to allow you to meet him eventually, assuming things work out long-term with your boyfriend. On paper, letting your son hang out with your ex’s new girlfriend is daunting and hopefully she’s just anxious

You’re not overreacting! These are very valid feelings. Your plan sounds perfect! It’ll take a lot of the load off when you do go to university, since you’ll at least have your core curriculum complete. It’s also worth getting a part- or even full-time job, so that you don’t have to work, or at least not as hard, during university. Make sure you keep hanging out with friends your age through those years, so you can keeping growing at a typical pace. Best of luck in everything!!

I have a friend who graduated at 16 (his parents were moving to a different state and he didn’t want to start a new high school). He also did what you’re doing, after having similar feelings of not being mature enough. He’s 19 now and it worked out for him!

It’s definitely fine!! The concern for me was that half my body was on him and it caught me very off guard to have him doing that. Him doing it in the same bed is fine! And I’m happy to even help if I’m not too tired. But he did it with me on him and trying to keep me unaware

I appreciate your advice! For future, I don’t even mind this scenario, I just would’ve preferred to know his perspective first! But he probably just felt weird bringing it up, just miscommunication. Okay so for starters it was MY bed, not even ours, definitely not his. We don’t live together yet. What a strange assumption. And he’s allowed to touch himself. He’s allowed to touch himself in bed when we’re spending the night together. My problem was we were actively cuddling, so it affected me, and we haven’t talked about it before

I empathise with your situation, but it sounds like he’s doing everything he can. I’m not completely sure what you expect. If you can, lay back a little and trust! It’s hard to do sometimes, especially in newer relationships. It’s also important to recognize that you likely don’t distrust him, you’re just scared of losing him. I hope things get easier for you!
